Whenever Mind Taker deals combat damage to a player, that player shuffles their library and then removes the top card of their library from the game.
Kind of a weird Blue creature that popped into my head. Thought I'd get everyone elses opinion and see how it pans out.
Suggestions? Flavor text?

Mindsweeper is unblockable.
Whenever Mindsweeper deals damage to a player, that player shuffles their library and then removes the top card of their library from the game.
Years of knowledge only take seconds to disapear.
Changes
-Evasion
-Triggers on any damage
-Cost tweak
-Name change and flavor text
-New creature type

I think this is actually quite weak compared to something similar like Rootwater Thief. You can probably give this flying. Cool card. I don't like the name too much - something like Thought Devourer would be much cooler, except that it already exists...the concept for the name is right, but I feel that the name should sound more elaborate given the effect.  As for flavour text, how about something like, "The best way to rid one of all life's little inconveniences" - or do you want something more serious? |

The name can go. It was a placeholder for the most part. But, I'm not good with names, so I'm open to suggestion.
Flying or maybe just Unblockable?
Flying would be weird without a creature type change.
I don't think Unblockable would be too powerful on this guy.

Even with unblockable, this card would probably be an uncommon at its current power level. As of right now, it's not even comparable to Raven Guild Master, and as combo_dude mentioned, Rootwater Thief. Perhaps to change it up a little bit, rather than dealin damage in order to remove a card, how about something like:
UUU, tap: Search target player’s library for a card and remove it from the game. Then that player shuffles his or her library.
Though maybe that's too similar to Supreme Inquisitor

Well, I actually wanted it to be a random removal from the library. I didn't want it to be too powerful. There are already plenty of very good library removal cards.
I was going for something more middle of the road.
I could change it to an activated ability, but I really did want to keep the combat damage mechanic. I could change it to just damage. That can make it a little better I suppose.

If it doesn't have evasion, it could very easily be a 1/1 for U with that ability.

First off props for making a sweet card. I mlike the random part of the ability a lot and think it should have flying. I would also knock a colorless of the card's casting cost and then it would be nice. How about

There's no point to shuffling after RFG the top card if you shuffled beforehand.

Sorry about that i forgot I was shuffling first. i think you need to shufle then remove the top card and leave the library. That way it is nice and random.

I would really like the card if it had flying over unblockable. Then you could at least chump a flyer if necassary. Flying is always a better trait to have and it would fit the card better IMO. Does anyone think that would make it to powerful or am I the only one the flying would only make the card stable.

Last year I thought up a card that was very similar to this one later posted on Brainburst. The idea to do something useful with the removed card indeed offers some funky options that, to me, seem a lot more fun than leaving it at just removing them. Then again, maybe those cards are broken... |

It could definetly be an illusion if it is unblockable but it would be an overall better card if it had flying so it seems like it should stay as a Human Wizard. As for another name: Keeper of Thoughts???

The flavor was for something to whack random knowledge outside of the affected player's head, not so much to take the mind (the name Mind Taker was really just filler and a tribute to Mentok).
I don't really want the randomly removed card to be played.
