So as you can tell, I didn't really think that there is anything too good in this set.

Nice review! I've been away from civilization this weekend and didn't see the complete spoiler until just now. It was nice to see a full type 1 review of the set at the same time.

Funny thing, though. Normally the last set in a block has the most interesting and perhaps powerful cards. This one definitely doesn't as far as I can tell. I was pretty disappointed with the spoiler too.

How could you leave conjurer's bauble out of your top ten?  T1 players finally get to use a card like Jeweled Bird in their decks.  It's an excellent cantrip and the recursion ability has to be usable in some way.

Ugh, Conjurer's Bauble? I predict this card will see ZERO play. The recursion ability is useless, and this card will not see any play because it cantrips. There are many better, more powerful or synergistic cards to use. I don't think I will be making space in Workshop Slaver for this.

Fifth Dawn has some cool stuff in it, but only a handful of actual good Type One cards. Everything else is chaff.

If you want a 1 mana cantrip you have Brainstorm, Serum Visions, Sleight of Hand, and Opt.  All of these are better.  If you want a 0cc cantrip you can use Urza's Bauble.

Maybe it is just me but I didn't understand as to why it was wrong to play Night's Whispers in Sui.  I thought it would help the deck to keep drawing threats.  I just wanted to know your reasoning behind this.  And yes I do see it being good with Quirion Dryad.

The wrong part isn't playing Night's Whispers... it's playing sui.

Now I have seen the light.  Good thing I don't play sui.

Am I missing something with this card?

i just wanted to suggest this is a way to get high or difficult casting cost creatures from your own hand into play. you could use it to counter one of your own zero cost artifacts or something to throw down a big creature. then again there are probably many cards that do this in the vastness of T1.
