Whenever a card is put into a graveyard, remove that card from the game.
 
I was looking around some cards and I found Planar Void.  I startewd thinking about what exactly it did, and it shuts down almost every good draw engine in the game.  Intuition/AK, Angel/Scrying, Bazaar/Squee, Survival/Squee, Deep Anal, and Thirst (sorta).  It hinders Thirst because you cannot Weld in the artifact you discard to it.  While they still net a card, or just filter, it is a lot less powerful.  Welders are shut down completely, Tog is weaker, and Yawgmoth's Will is useless.  Dragon has no way to go off at all.  Tormod's Crypt is seeing a lot of use recently, and this is just a permanent version.

The main problem with making a deck around this card is that all the draw engines are shut down, except for Standstill which I loath.  I am currently testing out Night's Whisper.  It only nets you one card, but with your opponent unable to draw as effectivly it can be enough.  I will probably post the deck once I test it some more, unless it turns out to be total crap.  But even then I might just incase there was a good idea in there that I just used badly.

A card that is such a house against the majority of the metagame needs to be used in something, and I think it is good enough to be maindecked.  The only problem is that a complete deck has to be built around it due to its effect on current decks.  Throwing this into something like Hulk or Germbus is almost like Belcher running Null Rod.

I think the best use of this is either my control deck, or a Goblin or Dryad type deck which splashes black for Void.  Maybe this is the key to making Suicide Black a dominant deck again(sarcasm, but if Hell freezes over while monkeys fly out of my butt and it does, I called it)

It's a triggered effect, not a replacement effect.  Meaning, you can put the trigger to RFG your thirst card on the stack, and weld in response.  Or, put the trigger on the stack to RFG your AKs, and AK in response.

Will is useless when a Void is put out early is what I meant.  

I didn't think about the Welder while it is on the stack, but it is a hinderance for infinite Mind Slavers, because you need the Welder to be untapped and when you use the Slaver.  The thing is that when they Thirst they need to have an active Welder out, which isn't always the case. Often they will Thirst looking for the Welder, discard Slaver/Pentavus, then play the Welder.  This will slow them down, which can be used to your advantage.  If you run Mox Monkey it could give you time to get him online and shutting down the Welder, or to remove it.  While it does work better in the other cases, it is still annoying for a Slaver player, because it does stop using it back to back unless they have 2 out.

Well, only if your opponent hasn't has a Planar Void on the table since turn 1.  I'll give him credit, Planar Void does counter Yawg Will pretty well.  That's all it really does.

Overall Void is annoying, but can be played around.  I'd rather play Wretch/Crypt/Purge.

[EDIT]:  Wow, opening the page, then going away for an hour, then posting without re-loading it is GREAT STUFF.

Kowal's first post negates this point also, though it was never explicitly mentioned. I felt it worth bringing up. The Dragon player can Necromancy on your turn and then the Active Player Non-Active player effect stacking will allow him/her to effectively stack your Planar Void triggers an arbitrarily large number of times, never having to resolve them.
