Starting Card
Disciple of the Vacuum
BB
Creature -- Cleric
1/2
Whenever a player draws a card, ~this~ deals 1 damage to him or her.
"No knowledge, no pain."


Rarity: Uncommon.
Concept: An evil ascetic attendant wich "punish" the search for knowledge.
Issues: Not an innovative ability. Perhaps too powerful. perhaps you need something more inventive. What about 2/2?

Definitely too powerful, I think. It may be symmetrical, but symmetry is a very easily broken drawback. The closest comparison I can make is Underworld dreams, which costs {B}{B}{B} and doesn't come with a 1/2 body.

Also, "vacuum" just sounds too much like a household appliance. "Disciple of the Void" would probably sound cooler.

Right, but UndDrem is much more difficult to "kill", being an enchantment.
Uhmm suggestion to fix it? I' ll make a little rewording.
Tha starting name was Disciple of the Void Razz. I' ll change it back.

Disciple of the Void sounds a lot like Disciple of the Vault.

I really don't like the idea of mentioning phases of the game on cards when it can be avoided.

I don't think the original version was too strong. A 1/2 for BB is very weak, and the ability isn't that great.

I agree with Jacob, and furthermore, what's the point in even mentioning the phases? It really doesn't make a lot of difference since they can just cast stuff EOT...

I could see this card having a lot of potential.  Maybe it would even make me bring back my Underworld Dreams deck.  The card is defenitley good but not necassarly unbalanced.  I mean it was stated that this is better than underworld Dreams but how much play does that see.  I think this would see play due to the creature ability but the best decks in the format should still be able to play around it.  It may be good but there is quite a bit of good removal as well.

2 power would probably make it too strong. That's 3 points of damage a turn, for 2 mana.
