Matt, I think you're forgetting that you can play other creatures.  Imagine this sucker in a Limited ground stall.  He's hard to kill with damage or -X/-X; only Brainspoil/Terror effects can deal with it.  The difference is that Bolt isn't dead against Scion of the Wild since it kills an opposing creature and makes him smaller, where in order to shrink this thing, you have to kill your own creatures.  I think to get the effect you want is something like:
"<This> has power and toughness equal to the number to the number of creatures you don't control minus the number of creatures you do control."
That's a wording nightmare, but now it's truly only good when you're behind.

Are you seriously comparing this card to Balance?

Scion of the Wild wasn't very good and it beat the snot out of this in limited. There is no possible way for this to be broken in a two player game.

Of course I am not seriously comparing it to Balance! I was mocking your statement 'It's only good when you are losing'.

I acknowledge that there is no problem at all with this in a two player game. I think I have already stated that. I also acknowledge that multiplayer can usually handle fat non-evasive creatures (and I HAVE cast a lot of Lhirgoyfs over the years, so trust me I know) but that is still no reason to print something so blatantly undercosted in a common format. I also think it is a beast in Limited, especially if it were in a set which resulted in ground stalls as Anusien poinyed out.

Initially you made this an X/X for 1WW. I'd be fine with it at X+1/X. That weakness against creatureless decks is sufficient to 'balance' it. Let's not pretend the card would ever be used apart from in casual, Multiplayer and Limited and at least attempt to make it reasonable in those formats. And the mighty 'goyf gets a random +1 on its asterix-infested P/T, why can't this?

Well white cards are usually not so aggressive to have P > T. If I shrink this it will be all the way to */* with no random pumps.

Would it be too weak at */*? To me it is more of a fun card anyway so should it matter if it is merely a 7/7 for 3 mana rather than an 8/8? If you find yourself playing this against creatureless decks, you are doing something wrong.

As I said before I could take */*+1. As Matt pointed out, it is more logical for white to have creatures that are stronger in defence than offense.

I'm not sure this is as bad as you think.  I can see it subbing in not awfully for White Descendant when that guy leaves T2.

I think this should have Kicker, but for multiplayer.

Amoras, Rising Warlord   {2} {R}
Legendary Creature - Barbarian Lord
Kicker {1} {R}
As Amoras comes into play, choose an opponent.  Amoras gets +1/+1 for each creature that opponent controls.  If you paid the kicker cost,  instead remove all other creatures you control from the game, and Amoras gets +2/+2 for each other creature in play.
Amoras began life as a farmer, until raiders killed his family.

That really seems like it wants to be a flip card.
