I'm curious as to just how many teams there are out there, and who's on them. Recently, I've been getting confused as to who's still on what with all the tournies going on.

Number of Meandeck members in the finals of the world champs: zero. Number of Short Bus members in the finals of the world champs: one.
Maybe you should re-evaluate your statement. :p

Number of Paragons in the Top 8: 2. We're slipping . And let us not forget the efforts to reform the mighty team in the weeks leading to GenCon.

I think you're taking the wrong strategy on this one Smmenen. I think you want to let the team trash talking die, because even if you can warp the discussion to who put in the most players in top 8. you still lose the overall summer record and lets not get started on the head-to-head count.
Truth be told I think all the major teams did very well for themselves this weekend. The Canadians/Dutch impressed the hell out of me, the west coasters did well, Meandeck didnt disappoint, and the Shortbus had 1st on Friday and 2nd and 12th in the main event. The only group that really came up short was New England, but I think that can be blamed on their lack of hanging out drinking into the wee hours of the morning like the cool teams did.

It seems that everyone is on a bloody big-name team... short bus, mean deck, paragons, whatever... Except, you know, the people that actually win.

Well, I was actually gunning for a list of members on each team. There's so many, and it's hard to keep track of who's on what, espically if you only know their TMD names.

Shortbus had 1st on Friday and 2nd and 12th in the main event. Ummm.... NO.... John Longo finished 12th in the main event, and unless im mistaken he is kinda on my team... Maybe you had a typo but if your going to talk about comparing teams dont mix up facts. Know team had a real poor showing accept for Hadley that just didnt have a good day, but im sure they had a good time. The dutchies were impressive, and so was team west coast. Though we all know New England is the Meca of type 1.

And then there's the omnipresent Signature Teams that exist for no other reason than to make your sig look more interesting, such as Team Bite Me which basically consists only of myself and as such has no real accomplishments whatsoever (except to note that 100% of its members have been in a lesbian threesome).
Also: Insane Scrub Posse (ISP) is the token Dutch team on these boards. It has some 12 looseley-defined members but as most are 'in and out of the game' and often more 'casual type' tourney players, it is not nearly as competitive or innovative as Mean Deck and the like. More or less 'serious' ISP members you may have seen on these boards or IRC include Morefling (Rudy), Pyromaniac (Hero), LevelZero (Maarten), CyberKnight (Leon), Ancestral (Roy), GotRealLucky (Tom) and myself. Our one big claim to fame is that we are likely the only T1 team on these boards that have a former official World Champion in our ranks. (Official. Sorry Carl :-)
P.S. Sadly, I was lying about the threesome.

Maybe I was really 11th and never knew. But in any case Shortbus took 2nd and some really-close-to-top8-number.

I am not accusing you of being wrong or anything like that, and if it came out like that it wasnt intended.

In case you didn't notice, we teamed up with the canucks, and thus making us more than impressive. In terms of prizes, it makes us the best team at the event. (not counting the potential worth the painting has). Out 6-way split l00t including: 6 boxes of 5D (yay!), at least 14 legend packs, and $250 - 1/4th of it. With events that had the worst prize support ever, I'd say we did pretty good. And then there was also Bill (Dante) who made 9th in the main thing with our Dragon list.

Plus, most tmd members have some kind of lineage that flows through me. TMD.com should collectively be Team Cid. ...btw, for the record, team Hindsight used to be me + MattTG.

My team is Team 1 Truth its currently consisting of.... Myself. Basically I just wanted to start a team based on fair play, honesty, integrity and of course having fun. Not that the other teams aren’t all of those things but even though I love Magic and I love winning I still want it to be a game and still want to have fun.
I think in the competitive nature of the format, world championships etc we lose track of that sometimes. So that’s why I chose the name, the 1 Truth is its a game, its what I do for fun, I want to win but if I don't its ok as long as myself and my opponent had a good time!
See you in Newington!

BACK to the topic...
Team Underground consists of....myself aka Mike Daniels (Mixing Mike), Andy Valanis (WhiteMage05), Brendan Boyle (Misemaster), Alden Earle (Driven), Mike Lovett, and most recently Rob D'Alfonso (RobbieDal).
So we got Reflection done, what about Meandeck, Shortbus, The Fringe, etc....

This thread has turned into a lot of cock stroking. Its easy to do your homework to find out who is on what team, seeing there is only a few major Vintage teams- all the other, smaller "teams" are really just loose associations of friends or peope that live in the same area.

BUAH HAHAHAHA!!! I'VE GOT YOU NOW!!! You actually missed a few people, but that's okay since they're under the radar. Moles rule. And our airtight NDA is so good that we've managed to not leak any tech despite playing in tournaments with said tech. The NDA also prevents people from knowing just exactly who is on the team.
