Well, I may not be able to delete posts, anymore, so this is the best I can do, for now.

I apologize if any of this hurt Jeek's feelings. It sure seemed to.

Has Zherbus even given me my own mod status back? After loads of trying to get him to talk about it, no, he hasn't.

Zherbus has never had much of a connection with the main irc channel. He is primarily a mod, not an op.

1) Having to rely on someone elses bot makes keeping control over the channel too much of a pain in the ass to bother with. Instead of trying to deal with it, I just don't.

2) It's not that I don't get what your saying about IRC, but I really don't care about IRC.

RULE OF THUMB:
You do not op people because they are friends. You op them because a) you need one and b) they are capable and worthy of the job.

During the madness where every single random opped person was setting +m in the channel for no bloody f***ing reason, and then would at least +v some of the others beforehand.

"Because they know and respect them". That was their criteria.

Not because the channell was overflowed with random conversation. Not because horrific off-topic or vulgar words were thrown around. Wu, myself, a couple of others, were having a fully normal conversation, about, you know... magic. Anyhow, the +m sorta screwed me, since I didn't get +v'ed, and the couple of other people, since Wu was the only one with voice. No one else was talking at that time, and I didn't really see any more conversation in the next hour, other than maybe 3 lines from the op and some random friend he "knew and respected". WTF...

That sort of soured the IRC channell for a while. This was a few months back, so some of the details, including the names, are hazy, but that seemed the be the m.o. at that time.

I agree that only people that actually have something to do with the channel should be ops, and only responsible ones at that. People that pull crap like that should never again be allowed to have such a large control of the channel.

I guess some certain amount of my wording was not quite what I intended it to be.

The question was not 'Why aren't we all sucking up to specific people' but 'Why aren't we all considering every one of us to be important'?

I just wanted to point that out since Jeek was offended by a certain sentence.  He deopped me, and Zherbus responded by deopping him and everyone else.

I've been trying to talk to Jeek, but apparently he has me on ignore.

Rule of thumb #2:
Communication doesn't work too well when one or both parties can't hear/read.

OMG INTARNET FIGHT

People, realize that it's an IRC CHANNEL. Not a business or a country. An IRC channel. As such, I don't give two tugs of a dead dog's dick who moderates it as long as they do a good job. Jeek does a good job and I have zero complaints about it.

Sounds like someone's angry at being the Rakso of channel ops. Sour grapes, sadly.
