I currently only have access to an OS 9 iMac computer.

There are many programs (such as Apprentice, mIRC, etc.) that I just can not get to work on this machine. Is it physically impossible to operate them on the system I'm using, or is there something I'm not doing?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you very much.

No, it's physically impossible.

A friend of mine tried the same years ago under Windows for Mac. No luck. Delphi doesn't run on there. Dragonstudios claimed they MIGHT eventually release a MAC version but it never came to that. My friend contacted them for the source code on the work they claimed to have already done but never got a reply. He started programming a MAC application himself but got fed up with it after he'd got the database to work.

...except Apprentice.

This is what I just told you about. It doesn't work. Virtual PC makes Windows run just fine (actually it's really cool to see how it emulates all components of a crappy PC). But Delphi applications: forget it.

I have been able to use Apprentice on a G4 PowerBook running OS 9.2 by using Virtual PC 5.0 running Windows 2000 Professional.  I have not used it to play online for a long time.  Sometimes when the program starts up, an error message appears.  However, I found if I just ignored the error, the program still seemed to function fine.

I play Apprentice under Virtual PC all the time. It works perfectly fine as long as you have the right version for the right OS you are running (98 or 2000).
