Blowgun - 1
Artifact -- Equipment
Equipped creature gains: "T: Target player gets a poison counter"
Equip 2 (2: Attach to target creature you control. Equip only as a sorcery. This card comes into play unattached and stays in play if the creature leaves play.)

Plain and simple. A nonzero costing common artifact. It kind of sucks but I want to revive poison in my next batch of cards.

Current wording:
Blowgun - 3
Artifact -- Equipment
Equipped creature gains: "T, Unattach Blowgun: Target player gets a poison counter"
Equip 3 (3: Attach to target creature you control. Equip only as a sorcery. This card comes into play unattached and stays in play if the creature leaves play.)


Another thought just struck me. It could be like a blade. I don't want a separate thread for it just yetl these things are simple enough to discuss in one thread.

You need to change the reminder text of Blowgun to reflect the change in the equip cost. I also think it would be appropriate to increase the equip cost to {3}. Unlike Viridian Longbow, Blowgun can't kill any creatures, but it's twice as fast of a clock. I think that having the same mana cost/equip cost as Viridian Longbow would leave it very well balanced. Four mana should not be enough to give an opponent three poison counters each turn.

Poisoned Blade is probably fine. As long as these are the only two poison counter equipment (and I can't think of many others), these will probably be okay.

I think this would be fun as one of the "deattach" equipment with a low equip cost.  It's like reloading another dart or something.  Otherwise you could go crazy with blowgun.

The Poisoned Blade really should be only combat damage. Otherwise you can just go to town with an [card]Arc Slogger[/card] or a [card]Kumano, Master Yamabushi[/card]

I know this won't happen in a tournament, but if my opponent has Chaos Orb in his hand while I'm controlling his turn from a Mindslaver, who flips the card if I force him to play it and activate it?

Agreed with Ephraim and Upinthe. Changes made.

Also: I don't believe any more poison equipment cards need to be made. These two are different enough and the flavor speaks for itself in combination with the mechanic, I guess.

Maybe we shouldkeyword this as "Poison 1". You know it's what Wizards would do.

I agree with Possesed Aven that the blowgun at least should be a de-attach equipment.

The blade is fine, but Blowgun seems a little too strong. Could it cost a little more?

I already upped the attach cost to 3, AND made it an 'unattach' deal. After one use, you HAVE to reattach this. You'd need X untapped creatures and (X*3) mana just to giva an opponent X poison counters.

I *guess* I could up the mana cost by 3, but that's all I'm prepared to do. Upping the equip cost even further is ridiculous.

I don't like how a blowgun detaches to use.  I think a more flavorful name would be something like Poisoned Dart or something....

It has to detach, otherwise it would be too strong. And why would it be more flavorful to call it a dart? You don't shoot it away, you just put it down and pass it to the next warrior.
