I put off correcting the rest of the exams to later in the weekend.

Please, please, please, only discuss the decks.  I DO NOT want this to be a thread about why or why not the 16th deck deserves to be published.

Of course not, that was as a matter of speaking.
To clarify, I was just amazed how many Control Slaver decks there were in the top 16. Seems like Control Slaver really dominated the tournament

why illusionary mask?  I mean the 40 some odd drains in top 16 migh give you an argument some how...I don't buy it but still, there's something there.  The 0ish illusionary masks even played in the tournament make this an odd choice.

Knowing even a little bit about Statistics makes me cringe everytime I hear someone say, look at the number of card x's in the top 8 of tournament y.

Just because a card shows a high appearance percentage, does not mean it is broken.

Consider a format where you must make a 60 card deck out of the following cards, and you may ignore the 4 per deck rule:

Forest
Island
Plains
Swamp
Mountain
Hurloon Minotaur
Grey Ogre

Is Hurloon Monotaur broken because every deck will be some number of mountains and all the rest some number of Minotaurs?  Is Mountain Broken simply because it will make up 100% of land used in all decks?

There will always be better cards, and as such, those cards will show up more regularly.  What really should be the determinant for if a card should be restricted or banned is how the card impacts the ability for the game to be played out.  Cards are typically banned because they enable games to be too one sided, typically in combo decks which typically don't allow a player much time to do anything short of Force of Will.

Type 1 is about good cards and Mana Drain is one such good card but is hardly broken.
