I am a firm believer in Tinker for Colossus.  I spent all last summer getting my ass kicked by Fish.  Tinker for Colossus used to be in the sideboard, as the Trinket Mages could tutor up all of the artifacts in my deck save Colossus.  The Post Game matchups were so suprising that the Tinker for Colossus became maindeck.  I had to go down to 2 colors to fit this in and have 5 or 6 basics in the deck.  I would LOVE to run actual tutors or play with 4 colors and a zillion dual lands, but Stability gets you to the midgame.  When all else goes wrong, you always can Tinker for Colossus.  I have even hardcast it a few times.  The combo is so strong, that some of my opponents (in other tournies) didn't even know I was doing the Salvagers things.  Random wins! Maybe ONCE did I side out the Colossus, ever since last September. I like it that much.

In my build, if you have a Darksteel Colossus in hand, you will know that when you Oath, you will Oath up a Salvager and likely win.  Same as having that one blessing in hand, if you know that you will Oath up a Salvager, then your graveyard remains fat and free for the picking.

As for why my build has the Trinket Mages and extra Salvagers in the sideboard, that is just me falling back to my old build.  You can fall back on the tradition Oath stuff if you want.

(Edit: Jul 14 build as I first unveild SlapJack into the Tourney Scene for historical perspective....

Sideboard: 15 cards of stuff

End Edit)

As for whether or not I thought my sideboard was good, well...I wish I had like SIX Wish targets, instead of 5, but the 5 in the board are what I usually Wish for anyways (with or without Oath Engine in the last 8 months.). I love having Intuition in the Side.

I can't put my finger on exactly why I ended up with this particular build, beyond the No-Brainers like FoW/Brainstorm/Fetchlands standard stuff.  I have been tweaking this deck since June.  So things like Intuition/Ak versus no AKs are something I have had to hammer out.  If a Salvager Resolves, my win cards are AEther Spellbomb, Pyrite Spellbomb, Conjeror's Bauble, Intuition, Cunning Wish, additional Oaths and so forth.

Anybody else's build will have to reflect their own particular style and Metagame considerations.  But like all decks, you have to play it over and over and over against a variety of decks to find out what you can and can't do with the deck.

For example, my deck has ZERO graveyard hate cards.  That is a risk I am taking as a Combo/Control player. Eventually, I may look into the Phyrexian Furnace (or whatever Feldon's Cane thing is) as Conjurer's Bauble is not exactly a top notch kill condition.

Thank you for your comments, and Oath Salvagers (with SlapJack Transformantion Sideboard) really is the funnest deck I've ever played. And this is coming from someone who once built a deck to have the following goal:

I want to thank you for your deck idea, though I changed it a bit.  I won the Castle rock CO Mox jet tourney.  I was testing just about every deck for the tourney and all failed in every play test session we did. meandeck oath lost many a game to Jesters cap, Plat.  Dragon just fizzled out for me every game.  So after reading your article I made your deck with some changes and goldfished it here and there, but never actully played a game until morning of tourney.  We all meet at a frineds house at 11am to finish up decks and test a bit.  I played 3 matches w/o boarding adn we left for tourney at 1230 when it was about 30 miles away and started at 1pm.  We made it with time to spare, and sat and waited.  Was great since I am new player in area and if you look at tourney posting you can see a great flame war between Springs players and denver players.  If you would like my deck list I can send it to you.  I would do a tourney report but I didn't take any notes and pretty much suck at writting.  again Thanks for idea.

Congrats on the win.  If you won a Mox with a Salvagers build, I am sure people would be interested to hear about it, what the meta was like, your matchups/play decisions etc.

There is a tourney submission subforum that you could post a report in.  I didn't take notes either, as I didn't expect to go the distance, but the Vintage Community needs to know what is working.
