Format: Vintage (Type One).
Proxies: Up to seven initially, $1 per proxy after seven total.
Cost: $20 + additional proxies, should you decide to use them.
Time/Date: Saturday, April 9th. Registration begins at noon, with the tournament getting underway at 12:45 PM!
Location: Registration is at Compendium Collectibles - Rocky River, Ohio, with the tournament taking place next door in an open retail store location.
The tournament will be run standard swiss-style with a cut to the Top Eight, with single elimination determining the winner. The most current banned/restricted list will be used, which means Trinisphere will be restricted in this tournament.
Proxies will be made by modifying a basic land card with all relevant game text, and must include casting cost, card type, and full card name. If you need Oracle wording on any card at the tournament site, please feel free to ask.
Both cash and major credit cards accepted for the entry fee, payable at Compendium Collectibles upon time of registration.
Prizes are as follows:
1st place: Unlimited Mox Ruby (web site says 20+ people to have it, but it is a guaranteed prize, not dependent on turnout).
2nd place: Playset (4) of foil Player Rewards Wastelands, unplayed and in individual packaging, and a Richard Garfield modified and signed Phelddagrif!
3rd-8th place prizes are TBA and somewhat dependent on turnout, but will likely include Force of Wills, Mana Crypts, dual lands, and playsets of blue Onslaught fetch lands. We're doing all we can (purchasing numerous collections) to acquire Vintage staples for prizes rather than booster packs and store credit!
