Teaming up in Holland

I'm interested in creating a new team in Holland or joining one. My only problems arise that 1) I don't know any worthy players/teams in Holland 2) I doubt I'm a great team leader or a great player 3) I barely know any competetive people areound here...

I live in Holland (duh) near Enschede, I also have OV incase I need to travel with the train for some playtesting sessions...

I don't think that I will be able to join immediatley to any existing dutch team, but I do expect some feedback and help...Besides I really really need the testing, since my results are heavily skewed because off bad players on MWS...


I posted this here since this is by far the best vintage website on the net, and all off the competetive minded people are located on here...
So if anybody got some advice or ideas for me.
I'm all ears...

There are quite a couple of people that want to play T1 in regio Twente... You should be able to find them on nedermagic.nl...


however, if you want to go for the greater players:

Utrecht: Menno Rieff
Nijmegen: Roy Thijssen en Tom van de(r) Logt
Eindhoven: Lots of them, including Rudy van der Soest, Hero 't Mannetje, Marco Kievit en Bram Verhees
Leiden: a couple, don't know the names
Den Haag: Arthur Tindemans & Koen van der Hulst


and obviously all these things have changed the past two years...

We used to be more like a group of friends who more or less played the same format but we've been streamlining ourselves (in a figurative sense only, unfortunately) into a 'real' team and I daresay we've some interesting stats

Problems are that I have almost zero tournament experience (besides small tournaments like Almelo/Hengelo), although I got some decent experience with fish (If only I can get the damned cards) on MWSplay.net (stupid opponents die way to easily )...

Correct me if I'm wrong but the only REAL Vintage Team in Holland is ISP. You'll just have to make one yourself I think, but I doubt it will work out because your home is in Twente and the most good / active Vintage players live in the South and West of Holland.

The more people the more fun...If they want (or tolerate) me in there team its obviously fantastic...

Internet exists though, and I have OV so I can travel reasonble distances...

This is very important.  Living next to each other is the first and most important step in creating a successful Vintage team.

If you want to be recruited and not start your own team, you will have to work to 'advertise' yourself.

Well I'm actually starting to think about creating my own vintage team, my biggest problems are though;
1) lack off experience from my side
2) no power what so ever
3) not knowing how to create a forum (wich is IMHO paramount to create a good team)

Wich essentially means that I need to get recruited somehow, or find people that can help overcome problems 2 and 3 (I can work on problem 1 myself quite well )...

Kasuras already noted that he needed a team, so thats member (I'll send him a PM) 1 if I am to create a team off my own...Any more takers?

Quite serious really if these proxy tournaments from the recent past start getting around more frequent.

As kasuras mentioned proxy tournaments are showing up more and more, not to mention that unpowered decks are viable if proper testing is behind them...

To give an update about the progress:

We currently have an open site for people to come to with hidden stuff where the team can discuss their decks and all. We're still looking for members so.. Check it out! We're also looking to get a IRC channel online but my gaming clan (other games, not magic) doesn't have the access to a windows bouncer yet but we hope to get the channel online ASAP as well.

But seriously, why would you want your own IRC channel? Wouldn't it be easier to just come to #tmd? What's all the secrecy about? So far you have two nonpowered members. A secret forum should do just fine in your case.

For now TMD will work just fine to contact eachother, when needed we can always turn to MSN...
