You are not playing Kataki turn one, and it won't stop your opponents getting Tinker while Chalice likely will. And you don't have to pay upkeep cost for your Chalices. If you have both in play, you are already winning, and can often let Chalice go. And who cares if they do all the same and are death draws after the first one. You get threat redundancy, you desperately want either one in your opening hand. And spells like Aether Vial and Chalice do not automately resolve, it might be good to have similar threat to back another.

Don't worry, it doesn't fit mine either.

@ arvid: Oh, sorry. Let's look at the choices:

Chalice: it'd be awesome, but you're a bit light on the mana department yourself. Smile

Null Rod: Shuts down artifact decks (except stax) but you can't use your Aether Vials

Orim's Chant: Time Walk 4=5. Smile Stops combo dead in mid-play. TPS will be That Play Stalled. :p

Glowrider (or please don't flame me at once): More lock, less offense. But let's face it, white weenie's strength in T1 is not it's speed anymore, it's the redundancy and versatility of its creature base.

I like your build. I really do. Try posting some results so we can get a good idea on how it works.

@Nastaboi:
Including them to battle Tinker just seems to narrow for me, I'd include them to battle combo but I'm hoping Meddling Mages and True Believer will be enough. As you say yourself, if I get both in play it's a win more situation. Threat redundancy seems like a fair enough argument, however I'd rather find something that isn't a dead draw or win more in too many situations.

@elias:
Chalice: see above
Null Rod: Shuts down vial, as you say yourself, so it's a big no no for me.
Orim's Chant: Seems lika a sideboard card, however I'd rather sideboard Rule of Law.
Glowrider: This is interesting, since it's a creature (vial) with a disruptive effect. It costs 3 however, and that is what makes the card less good, probably unplayable (don't know). I already play Preacher at cc=3, and I cut them to 3 because of that, and Preachers ability seems far better than Glowriders.

@Arvid:

I'm just saying that Orim's Chant could be used to delay your opponent's turn. Casting it during his upkeep nets you an effective "extra turn" for your upkeep. Since you're an aggro deck, you'll needto stop his board development somehow. Cast turn 2-3, especially with Kataki in play, you can get some early beats as well as lay down some critters. Smile

Here's some test results, no SB:ing.

Psychatog
I've played a lot of matches, probably 10-20, and I'd say I won ~75%. It was a red version so it didn't run Pernicious Deed. I oftenly swarm the opponet meanwhile disrupting their mana base.

NinjaMask
Didn't play enouch to get reliable statistics but I won 4-2 or 3-2. It's aggro mirror, which is quite random, so there were many dead cards, such as True Believer. I did a major play mistake wayfaring in a Wasteland instead of my Kor Haven.

WTF (no Meddling Mages, Waterfront Bouncers instead)
We played something like 10 games, and I won 100%. I didn't face the worlds best player, but even I did some minor play errors, so will still count these statistics and consider it a fairly easy matchup. I play more creatures so it's just to swarm your opponent. FoW is quite bad when you FoW an "eager cadet", it's more lika a white Hymn to Tourach IMO.

Conclusions:

This is not really good testing, I didn't play the major archetypes. Although, it's a start and it's nice to see the deck work as it's intended too, even though I havn't played all deck types yet.

Unsung hero: Weathered Wayfarer. It's really really good fetching Waste after Waste. I won many games mana fizzling my opponent.

Worst card: Benevolent Bodyguard. First, let me explain this card. This used to be Mother of Runes and I played mother to protect Meddling Mages against every deck, Samurai of the Pale Curtain against welder decks, and True Believer against Tendrils decks. This could, theoretically, create a hard lock. I swapped to Benevolent Bodyguards so that the creature itself could attack, instead of sitting back acting all defensive. Mostly you only need to protect once anyway, at least that was my theory, for example TPS maybe plays 1 Chain of Vapor. Anyway - this was the decks most dead card, however I didn't play against any TPS, ControlSlavery or Stax, so I couldn't really judge the card too hard yet.

Play of the day: Against WTF we played a real stalemate game, trading creatures back and forth. Also he had a chalice for 1 in play shutting off a lot of cards that started to stack in my hand. The reason I did trade like this was that my opponent had a Jitte in play and I didn't want to let it get active, so I several times traded 2 for 1 to clear the board. Eventually he resolved a chalice for 2, shutting off my whole deck except Preacher, but aswell (maybe by mistake) shutting off his own deck, except for Mishra'a Factory. I played one or two Preachers that got countered and/or killed by Jitte, don't remember. I drew Wastelands for Mishra's Factory and eventually I won by decking him.  Very Happy

The list.

Kor haven seems interesting, at one end it seems techy if DSC is pounding, but it is a waste target.  How about lowering the number of wastes to 3 since wayfareer gives you a "toolbox" of lands?

Hm, I think I'd rather cut the Karakas for a plains since Kor Haven is (almost) as good as Karakas against Oath (which is Karakas main (only?) use).

Since you're using Wayfarer, have you considered using Maze of Ith?

Yes, I have but I chose Kor Haven over it since it at least could produce colorless. However I think I'll play 1 Maze of Ith in SB since both Kor Haven and Karakas are legendary.
