Being 1,500 miles or so away, abiding in the demands of family life and buying a new home, I'm just not going to make it to GenCon this year. But I'm interested in knowing what you're going to play or what you'd play if, like me, you can't attend on Thursday.

So, what would you register?

To get the ball rolling, I'd either play my Angel Fish or Super Grow deck.

"Angel Fish"
Legacy Blue/White Aggro-Control
by Bardo Trout

Fishies & Angels
4 Cloud of Faeries
4 Meddling Mage
3 Exalted Angel
1 Old Man of the Sea
1 Kira, Great Glass-Spinner

Artifacts
3 Umezawa's Jitte
3 AEther Vial

Control
4 Swords to Plowshares
4 Force of Will
4 Counterspell

Card Drawing
4 Standstill
4 Brainstorm

Land
4 Mishra's Factory
4 Wasteland
4 Flooded Strand
2 Polluted Delta
4 Tundra
2 Island
1 Plains

Sideboard
3 Blue Elemental Blast
3 Seal of Cleansing
2 Absolute Law
2 Cursed Totem
1 Enlightened Tutor
1 Umezawa's Jitte
* 3 metagame/scouting slots *

Possibly 'metagame/scouting' sideboard slots: Crucible of Worlds, Blinding Angel, Absolute Grace #3, Whipcorder, Enlightened Tutor #2-3, Fact or Fiction, Engineered Explosives, Echoing Truth, etc.

I like this deck a lot. I've done quite a bit of playtesting in preparation for my article. The Absolute Law (thanks Urza Insane!) slots in the SB shore up the Goblins match, which was never pleasant. The Jittes, Exalted Angels, Swords to Plowshares, Mishra's Factories, and Old Man give the deck surprising resiliency and power against random aggro. And the Wastelands, counters, and Meddling Mages give the deck a lot of staying power against combo and control. It's a fine deck. The mana base is solid, and I have a good sense on how to mulligan the deck.

Otherwise, I'd play that deck that I have the most experience playing, my ass-kicking "Super Grow" deck.

"Super Grow"
Legacy Blue/White/Green Threshold Aggro-Control
by Bardo Trout

Card Drawing & Tutors
4 Accumulated Knowledge
4 Serum Visions
4 Brainstorm
1 Sleight of Hand
1 Mystical Tutor
1 Intuition

Counters
4 Force of Will
3 Daze
2 Counterspell
1 Disrupting Shoal
1 Misdirection

Removal
4 Swords to Plowshares
1 Engineered Explosives

Creatures
4 Meddling Mage/Nimble Mongoose/Quirion Dryad (?)
4 Werebear
3 Mystic Enforcer

Land
4 Tropical Island
4 Tundra
4 Flooded Strand
2 Polluted Delta
2 Windswept Heath
1 Island
1 Forest

Possible sideboard cards: Meddling Mage (assuming they're not in the maindeck), Blue Elemental Blast, Seal of Cleansing, Sphere of Law, Cursed Totem, Enlightened Tutor, Chill, Armaggedon, Engineered Explosives #2-3, Stifle, Oxidize, Control Magic, Ground Seal, Hidden Gibbons, Null Rod, Energy Flux, Tsabo's Web, Serenity, Ray of Revelation, and Winter Orb.

Super Grow does a lot of things well: drawing an shit-ton of cards, countering tons of spells, and pooping out fat and cheatingly-cheap threats (4/4s for 1G and 6/6 flyers for 2WG). It's a very nimble deck and can change beatdown/control strategies easily.

So, what would you register?

Since I'm not going I thought I'd tell you, but a) I have at least two teammates going, and I won't reveal their tech; and b) I don't even know, there's like six decks I'm considering, and trying new ones out all the time. Here's a hint though: it won't be base-white or base-red.

I'm actually suppose to be on my way from Minnesota to GenCon right now as i'm typing this but due to family situations I was unable to attend at the last minute. I would have been playing UWR Landstill for the Legacy Championships tommorrow.

I guess there's always next year

Lists people. Lists.

There's another thread around here about what you would/will play.

I'm from Montreal and there is GP trial for this tournament on september 3. The prize is a 3 byes to the GP Philadelphia. Here is my list :

4 Force of Will
4 Mana Leak
2 Counterspell
2 Stifle
1 Misdirection
1 Teferie's Response

Threats (12):
4 Swords to Plowshares
2 Wrath of God
4 Fire/Ice
2 Engineered Explosives

Manipulation/Draw (8):
4 Standstill
4 Brainstorm

"Brokeness" (2):
2 Crucible of Worlds

Manabase (24):
4 Wasteland
4 Mishra's Factory
4 Tundra
3 Volcanic Island
3 Island
2 Faerie's Conclaves
2 Flooded Strand
2 Polluted Delta

Sideboard (15):
4 Circle of Protection : Red
3 Seal of Cleansing
4 ReB
4 Metagame slot (still don't know...)

Further hints: I have only one viable base-black deck, and all green/x decks are Survival (I had a neat one with Intution and Call of the Herd but it just needed way too much mana). The rest is a sea of blue, though artifact prison sounds like something I want to try out someday. This means no Three-Deuce for me!

Furthermore all decks I'm considering are multicolored (two or three; never five and not really ever four) except for a couple blue decks.

I'd play my Landstill list from the other thread, modified.  I do have a friend who's going, packing RGSA something like this:

(Lands: 20)
2 Taiga
4 Wooded Foothills
11 Forest
3 Mountain

(Spells: 5)
4 Survival of the Fittest
1 Sword of Fire and Ice

(Mana Creatures: 12)
3 Fyndhorn Elves
4 Llanowar Elves
2 Rofellos, Llanowar Emissary
1 Birds of Paradise
2 Yavimaya Elder

(Beatdown Creatures: 15)
4 Flametongue Kavu
4 Ravenous Baloth
4 Nimble Mongoose
1 Shivan Wurm
1 Blastoderm
1 Deranged Hermit

(Utility Creatures: 8)
1 Anger
1 Genesis
1 Nantuko Vigilante
1 Spore Frog
1 Goblin Sharpshooter
1 Squee, Goblin Nabob
1 Wirewood Symbiote
1 Quirion Ranger
SB:
3 REB
1 Pyroblast
1 Gaea's Blessing
1 Dosan the Falling Leaf
2 Naturalize
2 Wear Away

P.S. Any last minute changes you'd suggest, I can pass along.

I'm not going, but this is what I'd play if I was:

4 Aether Vial
2 Umezawa's Jitte

4 Gempalm Incinerator
4 Goblin Lackey
4 Goblin Matron
4 Goblin Piledriver
1 Goblin Pyromancer
4 Goblin Ringleader
1 Goblin Sharpshooter
4 Goblin Warchief
1 Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker
4 Mogg Fanatic
1 Siege-Gang Commander

3 Bloodstained Mire
6 Mountain
2 Plateau
4 Rishadan Port
4 Wasteland
3 Wooded Foothills

Sideboard:
4 Disenchant
4 Swords To Plowshares
3 Pyrokinesis
4 Red Elemental Blast

Edit: After seeing the Top 8 decklists from a 54-person Grand Prix Trial during U.S. Nationals (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=mtgcom/daily/bd189), I think I would change my sideboard to this:

3 Disenchant
3 Swords To Plowshares
3 Anarchy
3 Red Elemental Blast
3 Sirocco

@ Landstill players: have you tried the versions with Akroma's Vengeance?

I've play tested Vengeance several times and in tournaments I've only hardcasted Vengeance only twice. Vengeance to me just seems like an expensive way to draw another card. Nev's Disk just works better for me.

I haven't been piloting Vengeance but I've been running all manner of deck into Landstill and I have to say that I fear Vengeance way more than Disk, because I can fight disk with Disenchants and Pithing Needles and so on. Vengeance can only be countered (or possibly LD can keep them off double-white).

If the {W}{W} doesn't faze you, my opinion as a dedicated Landstill opponent is that Vengeance > Disk.

Also: No, not Doomsday.

If you're running Wrath of God in Landstill, the double white shouldn't be a problem. My thing was just that everytime I played with Vengeance I ended up cycling it more times than actually playing the card.

Well I actually meant that hint as "of all the decks I am considering, none are base-white or base-red." It still haven't narrowed it to just one deck, though my friend (who will be attending) will be playing GAT so there'll be at least one GAT player there. Razz
