Not too much to say - a tournament full of slow decks, so the winners were the ones that could kill the fastest or make the speed of the kill irrelevant. A few more decks from the regulars would be great, though - 13 decks is decent but while it's great to see new players, it's also good to see old ones too!

Pithing Needle can name lands, it stop all activated abilities except mana abilities:
"As Pithing Needle comes into play, name a card.
Activated abilities of the named card can’t be played unless they’re mana abilities."
I name Mishra' Factory, and he cannot animate it. Then, I play the Thallid, and attack for one each turn, paying for Tabernacle with the Pendelhaven. The Rishadan Port does nothing as I can tap for mana in response to pay for the Tabernacle. Thus, my Thallid goes all the way when I go first. When I go second, though, he is able to Port my Pendalhaven before I can cast both Needle and Thalid, and so the game is a draw.
