Unless your plains has a black and white kitty cat winking at you its no good......
I prefer very specific lands: foil saga swamps, Ed Beard apec islands, kitty cat plains or unhinged foil plains, I don't play with forests and arabian nights mountains.

Mirage lands have the best art, hands down. Look at the plains for examples.
I really hated the Forests, and the one Island that didn't match the others. The rest were very very good however (especially the blue moon Swamp). I happen to be fond of the Invasion "Yam" forest, but that's just me and I don't expect anyone else to agree.

Matt is the only correct person in the thread, except for everyone who agreed with him. Guru basic lands are the best by far.

In terms of artwork, I think Ravnica might have the best. They are on the new cardface though, which disqualifies them. So I have to go with Saga lands.

I like specific foil lands:
Avon island from invasion Avon forest from invasion Alexander mountain from Masques Avon plains from invasion Eggleton swamp (moon pic) from 8th
I also love the Australia plains and EURO lands. Guru's don't tickle my fancy, so ugly.

Whilsy others might be more pimp, Saga lands are superb.
IMHO Betas are the most cool, foils are trying to be cool which is uncool unless everything is foil.

Is the common link being that both links don't work? And yeah, when I first started playing I used Mirage lands exclusively, since those looked incredible.

Sayin' it on the run so as to avoid any flying tomatoes, I like using foiled 8th and 9th edition for my regular decks, although I use foil Unhinged for tourney decks.
I like the plains that is just the open wheat field, The forest with the green glow behind it, The purple mountain (i believe it's from mirage), the mirrodin island with the seat of synod in it (who knows why, i just do), and the swamp with the purple/blue horizon glow.Â
Because the cards don't actually have any game text, they are there to look nice right? Well the new card frames have bigger art boxes, and the new foiling process really picks up the mana symbol and background "veins" nicely.

APAC (both Clear and Red) and Beta for me. I think the new lands that just have the mana symbol are as ugly as shit. And as far as art goes, APAC Hong Kong is as good as it gets. That's a gorgeous composition Artwise, Gurus are super-sexy too, but I can't get over those nasty mana symbols.

Guru lands are amazing and I would use them if they didnt cost as much as a mana crypt. I have used the Hong Kong APAC island (shown by Bardo) for a long time and havent thought about replaing them. The Red pack is the best, with the exception being the Fire Swamp from the Blue pack.

Interesting opinions! At the moment I'm leaning towards the guru-lands. Now is getting those signed a good thing or is it better to keep them pure?
Get them signed in gold, I've got one of mine done, it's excellent.

Have you guys seen the previews for the Ravnica basics? I may actually end up playing with those. I will use them in standard for sure. The art is amazing.

It's easy to say Guru lands and Unglued/Unhinged lands, but these are also good. I like the spiky Plains from Mirrodin foiled: The Island from 7th Edition with the strings of small clouds floating by: This Forest: This Mountain: And this Swamp:

Basic lands from Portal editions are also awesome. For those who can't figure : They have the art of the 6th edition lands but black bordered. I really enjoy playing with them.
Even if I have many lands beta, I prefer to play a playset of portal lands.
Forests and Islands are just so nice!
That's my opinion.
Once I'll get my scanner, I'll come post some pics.

That is a fine looking land. Most of the Portals lands are quite amazing actually. But they were the first to suffer those nasty-ass mana symbols. A pity, really.

I recommend one of each type of land that you like--no duplicates.
My favorites are the rare lands: Summer, although most people won't notice these s-Chinese Portal One Euro Lands APAC Lands Guru Lands 1996 Arena Lands Misprints (e.g., albino lands)

I'd have to recommend the opposite. Ideally, any cards you have multiple copies of should be identical, just to avoid giving away any information to your opponent.
