So here you are.  The last chance to practice for Waterbury (concurrent with the Beanie Exchange again).  This will be a pre-Ravnica and Portal tournament.

Following our very successful, if a little warm, effort back in July,we're not planning on changing too much.

Here's the skinny:

Sunday October 9th

Miss D's at 884 Livingston Ave,
New Brunswick, NJ 08902

http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?country=US&addtohistory=&formtype=address&searchtype=address&cat=&address=884%20Livingston%20Ave&city=New%20Brunswick&state=NJ&zipcode=08902%2d1849

$15 entry
Starts 11:30am
1st place to get unlimited Mox
2/3/4 dependant on attendance, but expect to see Alpha Dual lands, foil Vampiric Tutor and similar in these slots.
Last event drew 33 players and we gave away 1st place nice UL Mox Pearl, 2nd place Library and 3rd place Italian Drain.  Can it be beat?

Trader on site

All other info - PM (I'll try to be good), or call (609) 933 9666 (Me - Simon) or (732) 672 4074 (John - Ultima).

Getting there:
Mass Transit from NYC - pretty easy.  2 alternatives:
1) get the NJT "NE Corridor" line train from Penn Station towards Trenton, which goes to New Brunswick.  Best to call us (cell numbers above) or pre-arrange for us to pick you up from the station as it's probably 30+ mins to walk.  From Philly, take the R7 to Trenton then NJT to New Brunswick.
Schedule:
http://www.njtransit.com/pdf/rail/r0070.pdf

2) Get the Suburban Transit Line 100/Main Line bus from the Port Authority Bus Terminal, probably to the park and ride lot on Jersey Ave.  I think it's walkable, but maybe retain numbers just in case...
Schedule (leaves at 10 and 10:30 Sundays; takes 55mins):
http://www.coachusa.com/suburban/ss.details.asp?action=Lookup&c1=New+York&s1=NY&c2=New+Brunswick&s2=NJ&resultId=1750&order=&dayFilter=Su&sitePageName=%2Fsuburban%2Fss%2Edetails%2Easp&cbid=693707443947

Go Simon!

I'll actually be able to attend, and don't worry, I'll tell all the crew not to suck like they did in my absence last time.  Looks like Jersey is getting back in the swing of things! I'll be hosting Supherhero City's third p9 tournament fairly soon, (info to follow!)

That being said, we'll be there!

I got to defend my title so I'll be there!

I think the fact that it was hosted in a resturant supercharged my internal fat kid battery and trampled everyone.

mind you - Ray . the taco bell eating CHAMPION - refused to have a battle with me in fear of losing his championship.

I clearly am the fat guy of TMD.

I will do battle for anyone of those who challenge my claim.

OK, so assuming I can find enough padded matts, or a decent grassy park, I can run a Sumo side event.  I might well participate...

I can put up an Italian Tetsuo Umezawa as a prize for it...

Ashok, I challenge you to a sumo side event on the street in front of the restaurant.  Go free publicity!  and my inner fat kid can kick the crap out of your inner fat kid!

Once again, I'll be there!

Want to add that the restaurant is now open, and there will be reasonable food on site.  Since I've never eaten there, I can't say for sure what it's like, but rest assured it won't be expensive.

Yeah, but I'm recovering from strep throat, so I decided it would be bad times driving to and fro in that condition, especially since I need to get back to work soon.

I'll hopefully get to make a sneak attack on the next one though.

A pretty poor turnout of 16 had us still offering a Mox.  Fortunately the top 2 split and we held onto it for cash instead...  Seth Levy ran the tournament freeing me up to play.  My thanks to Seth.

I think we may have set a record for highest combined weight for a final, as 600lbs of magic players sat down to agree a split.

Congratulations to Nick Coss (Iron Chef, playing 2 land belcher that I totally owned 4-0 last night), and to Raj (The Method, playing Control Slaver and successfully defending his title).  I'm less thankful to Raj for summarily kicking me out of T4.

The Mac + Cheese and corn bread from the cafe was good, and the pulled pork excellent.  Ultima's mum gets big props for letting us use the place.  Some drafts followed, and we were all done pretty early.

There's talk of another in South Jersey and one in  North Jersey in the coming months, y'all get off your asses and attend this time else we're just going to stop running them...

If you can get to Waterbury we'll hook you up with some beers.  Method is talking of running North Jersey tournament soonish that should be easy to get to anyway.

Ah, beers. Unfortunately I must decline that one unless it's in the morning or early on in the afternoon (carbs and all).

And if I said I'd be at the next one, it wouldn't be much of a sneak attack, now would it? Wink

Of course I'd probably end up asking directions anyway.
