nice texas references lunar.  This comes from Cali no less where you cant get convicted of a crime even if you sign the confession.

I think you have watched too many Alamo movies.  Thats like me saying all Californians are liberal gay surfers.  But i guess you know Texas best, cause you can see I obviously stated that I think Texas is the best...hmmm, no, i guess i didnt.  Heck you probably dont even drink, and just wanna follow my postings, have fun then.  You can bash Texas all you want, you probably have never been to Austin(live music capital of America and home of some of the finest women I have ever seen)  As for me, I will have a beer for you.

I will note for the record that Texas is also home to the smartest man alive.
That is a contradiction in itself, so I doubt the validity of your statement.
Googling "smartest man alive" suggests he's making a sarcastic reference to GW Bush. Hence, presumably, his use of italics.

I suspect the thread-hijacking prowess of you dutchies may be intrinsically inimical to such sarcasm, however.

Budweiser Select is a great middle ground for light and dark beers.  It's got a semi-dark taste without the thikness of a true dark beer and leaves your stomach open for more... Which is always good.  In my opinion, bud select is the way to go.

I throw my towel in on the side of dark beer.  I love it.  Porter ales and stouts are my favorite.  I find london fuller porter ale quite nice, and there is a micro brewery in toronto by the name of mill st. that make a coffee porter that is just superb, as it has a nice body, and finishes with a nice mocha/coffee finish.  I also love durham county black katt, but it's almost impossible to find, and I've only found it in one small bar in toronto.  Which if anyone lives in or visits Toronto should go to.  The bar is called smokeless joe's and is on john st. across from the paramount.  Superb bar with enormous selection of beer 200, different ones in stock.

Other favorites of mine are:
la trappe trippel
raftman
chimay
Gulden draak

All are good beers worth giving a shot.  As for Canadian and their ilk, I can't drink them, they have nothing to them, just water, and weakness.. However, they are good for drinking once you're already half drunk and don't want to waste the 'good stuff'.

Ummmm...US Budweiser and good or great is what is known as an oxymoron. Budweiser...yes even select which is an awful attempt at trying to look like a legit brew is not something anybody should really consider drinking....although it is a half step up from normal bud....

well I know that ozzy pissed on the alamo...other than that I dont get too into old western movies about texans beating up on some unarmed mexicans....

I obviously stated that I think Texas is the best

well while Texas is pretty bad, can we at least meet half way and agree that Minnesota is probably worse than either texas OR california?

actually I have....but it was really dull and the women there are not even remotly close to californian women...sorry man...but common man...just cause you watch MTV's The Real World and think you know all about Austin now doesnt mean you should start talking about how great it is...we all know you are chillin at your moms place with no car and broke as a joke ( Wink)

But yeh...how about some middle ground we ALL can agree on (at least us real drinkers)

Beer is good in general...in most forms (except US crap like coors and bud) but even that stuff will still get a girl to pretend she is drunk, and that is usually all it takes.... Razz

for those that dont know, jacob is from california if I am not mistaken...

You aren't.

EDIT: In response to the blue text from Jacob...Davis right? thought it was funny that you were gonna let texas have at us is all...or are you changing your stripes for good jacob?

This kind of "debate" is only good with some back-and-forth. Even Texans should get a chance to fight back. My stripes are still the same, although if you want to take some shots at Massachusetts or any other state, that's fine too.

And yeah, Davis.

Texas is waay hotter.  In fact, Satan comes to Texas when he wants to work on his tan.  Snow?? whats that? We get 2 weeks of winter if we are lucky, but we can wear shorts in December Cool.

Yeah you are right Lunar, Cali women are by far hotter(I've been to L.A. and San Diego).  But I kinda get tired of bleach blondes with fake tits......wait, who am i kiddin? No I dont.  Keep em coming!  They all make fine 'actresses'.

And hey, im not bashin Cali at all.  They got the weather thing down better than any state.  Just sayin that Texas isnt as bad as you think.
by the way- anyone know who won the SSG tourny?? wasnt it last weekend?

@ Jacob...

massachusetts is fine with me...nothing too bad there overall except the red sox. But at least they didnt embarass themselves like the astros (from texas too...double bad for them)

California does have the weather down pretty good though...where else can you go from Skiing in the mountains to swimming in the ocean in a 2 hour drive? In texas it would be like surfing down sand dunes then wading through hot water in a stream while dodging fire ants.

@ mike more specifically...I thought your type of "woman" lived in san francisco and spoke with a lisp though? Razz

Scott Limoges bought this beer called St. Brendamus (I believe) at Chicago.  It was the worst thing ever.  No exceptions.  I was talking to Godot on the phone at the time when Scott let me try it, and can confirm that my reaction was, indeed, a near death experience.  Don't ever buy that beer.  Ever.  You'll regret it, if you survive the awful experience.

I dunno if it can possibly beat Ziggy Sockey....yes the official man show beer was actually made and briefly marketed by somebody....

We found a bunch of 6 pack bottles of it at a Grocery Outlet for 1.99 a sixer.....what a mistake it was to buy 4 six packs of that shit.

Dont be fooled by the hot chick on the label....steer clear (you know a lot about steer in texas right? well this time I dont mean the animal)

VT has some FANTASTIC microbrews. Long Trail and Otter Creek have the best IPAs I have ever had. NH even has a couple good microbrews. Smuttynose and Nutfield are both excellent.

Of course, these are generally unenjoyable to those who like to drink crap like Coors or Bud.

List of Favorites:

Import: Stella Artois, Newcastle Brown Ale
Domestic: Sam Adams Lager
Microbrew: Otter Creek Octoberfest, Long Trail Ale

Spoken for the truth.
Heineken or Sarges anyday and some good beer not this trash you people buy cause your poor.  Worst reason to buy shitty beer, I dont have money.  You own a car, 4k in power, and yet don't have money to buy good tasting beer, terrible.  Also a lot of imported shit is awesome just gotta pick the right ones not sure on a lot of the names.

I must say that more then half of the Belgian inhabitants have this opinion on heineken:

"You might aswell piss in a cup and wait for it to cool down..."

I think there is a picture of a horse drinking PALM (a Belgian beer) with a bucket between its legs to fill with Heineken ( a Dutch beer )  Time doesn't permit me to google for this pic, so maybe later (if nobody beats me to it that is)

For beer I prefer a Yenglings or a simple Sam Adams, not too picky.  Just keep the Natty Light and Corona away from me.  Though I really did like PBR.

As for Texas, the beer might be shit, but I do fancy one vineyard there, some of the best wine I've had.  <3 Llano vineyards.

I used to like Dark beer more, but now I don't really care as long as its "good" beer.  I have found that dark beer is often as bad as light beer.

I'm a Bud drinker myself, so what do I know?

its a sad sad day.... Crying or Very sad

this cannot be possible though...kinda like the wineries that Long Island has...

If it is wine and it is from the US and its NOT from California, then it is most likely bad and belongs in a box with 5Litres of it...

I've been drinking lots of Sam Adams Boston Ale, I love the stuff, it's my fav right now.

I'll drink almost anything that comes out of the SA brewery but I also tried a #9 ale recently and did like that though it was a bit sweet for my taste, I'm not really a beer snob I found a few beers that I like and drink those.

I have to say that Magic Hat is my least favorite of the VT microbrews. I'm not such a fan of fruity beers, so #9( I assume you mean Magic Hat) and Sam Adams Cranberry Lampic taste awful to me.

Key West does not have many good beers available to me. Occasionally I can find myself a Red Stripe or a Stella Artois, but they are outrageously overpriced. I guess I'll have to suck it up and drink Bud with all the partying kids down here. I miss VT.

My favorite beer is Honey Brown.  It tastes awesome, it is relatively cheap, and Adam Bowers got me hooked on it.
