Alcool? What is this? Never heard of that.
I prefer dark beer over light beer but, I'll be satisfied with almost any kind of beer. When I say almost, it is because it excludes the Teen's favorite : Black Label Power 10... For 5 $, they get more than just drunk.

Also guys, shotgunning Guiness is retarded. I personally hate the stuff, but you're suppose to enjoy it. The only "acceptable" beers for shotgunning are: Key Light, PBR, Old style(god that shit is NASTY), and Milwaukee's Best. oddly enough its a mix between sipping on and shotgunning guiness that is supposed to be the correct mix. Correct me if I am wrong on the number, but a Pint of Guiness (an english pint not the pansey US Pint) is supposed to be finished in SEVEN big gulps...each gulp is supposed to leave a ring of head on the inside of the glass....if you dont drink it just right then its not as good (according to the makers anyways...I think its good any which way) Ive had a number of barley wines (even though I dont really like them) and Big Foot is just the most consistant and somewhat bearable one of the bunch that ive ingested (I say ingested because its like slamming a rod down your throat and on the end of the rod is a little boxing glove that hits your insides around a bit, then after its done a little foot comes out and kicks you for good measure....thats not always a pleasurable experience) icehouse is buds version of keystone is it not? keystone being the coors that doesnt quite meet the normal "high" (laughs) standards of coors light..... I know that according to some this next statement is going to make me appear like less of a human to some, but.....Im not a big fan of many of the belgian brews....im much more into the english style ales....sorry guys....bitters are easily my favorites with various pale ales (like ambers and IPAs and stuff) following close behind....the hops in beers like these are just amazing and are truly what a crip refreshing beer should taste like (sorry to you coors and bud fans out there) While I know cold beer is not technically correct (since near room temp beer maximizes the flavors and aromas of the brew) there is nothing better than an ice cold hoppy pale ale on a hot summer afternoon (yeh, this is probably the west coast craft beer drinker in me coming through, dut dammit, california re-started the craft brewing tradition in the US so we must know something about what we are doing out here) The small breweries up and down the west coast (from santa barbara north all the way up to canada) are simply amazing, and anybody taking a trip out to the west coast needs to check out a few of them.... but not southern california....they are mostly all about the king cobra and mickeys and stuff down there (steel reserve will still get you fucked up pretty good for cheap though just gotta have a stomach of iron...lets hear it for poor people, yay) For anybody ever thinking about a beer excursion out here id highly reccomend the following breweries Deschutes (bend oregon) Mendocino Brewing Co (ukiah california...I think ukiah...heh, get a map dammit) North Coast Brewing Co (Fort Bragg California) Lost Coast Brewing Co (Eureka California, by the way this is in HUMBOLDT too, soo check out the greenery) Jack Russel Brewing (Camino California) Anchor Steam Brewing Co (San Francisco California) Pyramid (all over the damn place now, heh, but Berkely and Seattle I believe are the big ones) Red Hook (Washingtong and Oregon) Sierra Nevada (Chico California) Anderson Valley brewing (Booneville California, this one doesnt have a real alehouse (at least not at the time of me going there last), but at their restaurant you can try a full flight......this one is a must go too simply because it is the most bizzare brewery in the world...they have their own dialect of english in this town of like 1000 people called boonting (after the name of the town boonville) the best part is that they actually feature a jackalope on one of their bottles....instantly making it one of my favorite beers ever...) There are a ton more, but if you were to take a trip those are some of the must see ones....bonus for anderson valley brewing and jack russel brewing for both being right smack in the middle of major wine growing regions too, so you can get really really faded if you want to make a day of it at one of those places...wine tasting is generally free in both the anderson valley and in the sierra nevada foothills appelations.

Guinness! When its poured properly ... nothing can beat it! I really want to go to Ireland one day and get me one there! Suppose to be 100x better than the crap we get from the bottles/cans. Even though, the bottles have gotten a lot better since they added the wedge to it ... As for other beers ... The Canadian Beers > The American Watered Down CRAP! ha ha

If I drink something made from barley, it'd better be Scotch and Single.
I don't like beer, period. Even the tasty ones do not appeal to me.
/edit: If I ever have to drink beer: dark beer has more taste and texture, but light beer tastes less like beer, so that gets my vote.

If you can get it, try Shiner Bock. Its from Texas and its not a light beer, but its not really dark either. Its a good beer if you ENJOY beer. If you wanna get hammered fast, drink Pudweiser or 'the beast'. Or better yet, go with everclear and show your liver who is really boss.

Texas and Beer are not a good mix generally.... Well technically, Texas isn't a good mix with anything. Unless following the use of the death penalty is your thing... On topic, for the past two years I've had a real hankering for a weiss beer but haven't been able to find any. It's simultaneously smooth, hardy, and refreshing. It's pretty much perfect.

American macrobrews are pure rubbish -- no arguement from me. I can't even get drunk on that shit unless I really set my mind to it (and I'm not a heavyweight either; I've never weighed over 125 lbs). But there's an extraordinarily large variety of high quality microbrews in the States. From the icy highlands of Maine to the puddles of the Pacific Northwest, to the unforgivable heat of New Mexico -- there's something for everyone. But Florida sucks. Don't go there for anything. Ditto for Texas. Sorry Matt.

The Canadians know their shit. Molson and Labatt are only the tip of the iceberg. Shotgunning guiness is a really brilliant idea, i'll do that this weekend. What the hell is all this talk about womanly drinks? Real men drink whiskey and always will.

I think you need to add cider to the list. Unlike beer you won't have a bad head in the morning (it rots your guts), you'll find getting up in the morning is incredibly easy, no stomach bugs will ever afflict you, you won't get a beer gut however much you eat after drinking it and you won't waste the top inch or so of your pint on froth. Oh, any you can clean your coins by dropping them in it. Perry is also good. Cider and Perry are both usually far stronger than beer but taste like fruit juice at first so are ideal for getting drunk with (or getting members of the opposite sex drunk with).
As far as beers go, Belgian beer is commonly known to be very good, American beer has a bad name (I thought for a while about what to write there) and Slovak beer costs about 30 cents a bottle (half a litre so almost a proper pint, don't you Yanks have weird small pints?) so who cares if it is good or bad? (most of it is good although my local brewery produces stuff the Czech PM claimed was only good for soaking false teeth in, which is an insult in these parts, although he did later have to drink some of the stuff, which doubtlessly did nothing to change his mind, but should act as a deterant to others thinking about silagging it off)
Guinness is good if you can write a number in the froth, drink it and still be able to read the number. This is also highly useful when on pub crawls in Dublin, even double figures happily fit as long as the first one is 1 (never tried a 2 there). There are undoubtedly better stouts than Guinness but Guinness isn't at all bad. Guinness has much the same effect on your digestive system as cider, except it all comes out black (although strangely enough a thick white head doesn't form - perhaps I didn't drink enough)

But what in heavens does socialism have to do with beer?! :eyebrow: I actually have a beer collection of empties, from Japanese, Chinese, New Zealand, Canada, and lots of other random beers. Almost everyone does at one point in their life; usually in college. You'll get over it. I had one at some point in my life too. I recycled most of it except for a huge ass bottle of Otter Ale; because otters are so frickin' cool.

That is a contradiction in itself, so I doubt the validity of your statement. Googling "smartest man alive" suggests he's making a sarcastic reference to GW Bush. Hence, presumably, his use of italics. I suspect the thread-hijacking prowess of you dutchies may be intrinsically inimical to such sarcasm, however.

I completely disregarded reading everyone else's replies and went right to the end, but I did catcha brief glimpse of Godot talking about Jdizzle talking about cock. Was Clown involved?
Seriously I dont drink beer.
Its southern comfort, jagermeister, and occasionally 151.

But what in heavens does socialism have to do with beer?! :eyebrow: Under Socialism, the State owns all means of production, which includes all breweries. Hopefully, that means cheap beer. However, I was poking fun at myself for my incredibly left score in the test from the General Topics forum and my general inability to drink beer. Getting sick is the actual reason why I don't drink...
