I think everybody who at one time played type one in southern california is now dead.  Literally dead.

There were 6 people in the Friday tournament, and a whopping 8 people in the Saturday tournament. I don't have any results, or top 8 decklists of course, because I didn't play. There was much better turnout and prize support for the Legacy 40 Duals tournament, which I had to go and win for BHWC, and for Crom.

GenCon SoCal won't make it past 2006, I'm afraid. There has been nobody there since it started, and artists, vendors, and attendees all seem to be on a steady decline. It's a shame really, because it's at a nice site (Anaheim Convention Center) with a bunch of parking, near a bunch of hotels, decent restaurants, is in Southern California's (usually) sunny weather, and and is close to LAX airport.

I kind of figured that would happen. I think if California, and the west coast in general wants to keep having Vintage around it's going to be up to the last few remaining dedicated players to organize some well promoted, and centrally located events. Have the DMF events died off? I haven't seen Shawn promoted one in awhile...
