Ray, great tournament once again.  I'd like to say 'gratz to Josh for winning.  I played him round 6, I believe, his deck was amazing as was his play skill.  I'd also like to say gratz to my team mate Terry for making top 32, way to go man, Life from the Loam owns the Oath mirror.

Also props to my big multicolored top hat Razz.

Last weekend's event was my first Waterbury experience, and I must say it was extremely enjoyable.  Thanks Ray, for putting on such an excellent event; the entire thing was a terrific atmosphere.  Hurray for three o'clock smoke breaks, right?

Anyways, congrats to Josh for taking it down with GAT.   I also met Josh for the first time at this event, and he was an extrmely quality guy.  You earned it!

I'm not sure what won day 2, but the field was like all fish, with some oath and stax.

I made top 8 with Combo, amazingly, because I played aggro-control decks every round.
JigglyPuff made top 8 with gifts.
Hatcher made top 8 with his deck.
I lost 1-2 to some guy playing flamevault with misds and sideboarded plagiarize (NOOOOO!)
I think the rest of the top 8 was aggro-control decks, one of which I'm hoping wins was like a bazaar lftl confidant deck that no surprise smashed the field of fish.

I think both Joe Davis and Bernie Parisi were playing the Ultima/Grand Inquisitor developed AKDrainTendrils, Bernie lost in T8, Joe won.  Corey Mann with Goblins was also in the day 2 T8, after much deliberation over whether he and Joe could draw in.

The draw put Ashok down to 9th place after he beat up on Outlaw.  But Outlaw managed to lose to my janky Stasis deck while he sat around with nothing better to do on a bye...

Waterbury was insanely amazing, as was sleeping for 14 (!) hours once I got home.

More comments later.

Some quick like info for the thread...The day two winner was Jeremiah Rudolph, playing U/W Fishies, beating Hatch in the finals. I played Day One, and scrubbed hard, tis ok though...and Day Two I was judging.

For anyone interested, the top eight of day two went as such...

quarters

Nate Pease vs Jeremiah Rudolph
Cross vs Joe Davis
Bernie Parisi vs Chris Hatcher
Nicolae Antes vs Corey Mann
Q
Jeremiah over Nate
Joe over Cross
Hatch over Bernie
Nicolae over Corey
S
Hatch over Nicolae
Jeremiah over Joe
F
Jeremiah over Hatch

Jeremiah took home the Ancestral, Hatch took home a Mox Emerald.

I want to send a big thanks to the players. I judged both days, had no sleep, dealt with some really tough game states, and couldn't have had a better time doing it. Simply put, Waterbury draws the best people hands down.

Congrats to both Josh and Jeremiah, superb wins. Thank you Ray for permitting me employment on your staff. And as I have previously stated, thank you to everyone who attended. You guys rock.

I actually had to explain to someone why Mana Drain was better than Counterspell. That was depressing...

Then they asked why Black Lotus was better than Gilded Lotus. I walked away.

One small correction: apparently I can't do math well when I have just woken up. I actually slept for SIXTEEN hours.

I was once asked on MWS, what the highest I ever finished at a TMD Open was.  I replied, "I've never played in a Waterbury.  I was then called "A TOTAL NOOB!"
