Quick question.

Do foils degrade over time?  If you played with a foil (in a sleeve) for years, would it lose its shine or have a reduced shine?

My foil Brainstorms have seen a LOT of play over the 2 years I've had them, and I haven't noticed much difference from the day I got them.

Mmm.. Revised Wild Growth worth.. 10 cents? So, I would buy 20000 Revised Wild Growth. Yep.

Or else, a beta black lotus. Still not sure about the right thing to do.
I think you should buy a calculator.

Wait.. with 1 bucks, you get 10 wild growth at 10 cents each. With 2000 bucks, you get 2000 x 10 wild growth, wich leads to 20000 wild growth.  Wink

3 Bazaars
3 Grim Tutor
2 Chains of Mephistopheles
3 Old man of the Sea
Playset of new duals

In that order I would spend my money

I'd buy a trip to Ohio and get my Dark Rituals back from Smennen. After all I'd hate to have to call him a thief.

4 Bazaar....If I'm playing a more 'casual' t1 deck for a more random tournament, somehow, it's always a deck with Bazaar of Baghdad Smile

Get the blue duels I'm missing.  Get 2 Drains, 2 Shops and 2 Bazaar of Baghdad so I can play anything in T1 with 10 proxies.  Then I'd get a set of Time Vaults so I'm set in Legacy.  Then I'd start filling in random staples (Intuition, Cabal Therapy, Grim Tutor), and set myself up for T2 with the rest.

I like this idea of the blue duels with the 10 proxies!

Apparently with the first $2000 I would buy 4 unlimited moxen and a beta time walk.
And with the second $2000 I would buy a beta signed lotus, signed unlimited timetwister, beta ancestral and the 5th mox.  And there was a little left over.
Apparently, that's what I would do.  Cuz I just did.

Hmm. I guess this is what I'd do (assuming it all had to go on MtG).

Finish my playsets of revised duals (~10 more), Ravinca duals (~30 more), fetchlands (8 more), and painlands (~20 more), then get a couple of Intuitions, 3 more Survivals, and any more Legacy staples that I'm missing. Then I'd get about 8 decks worth of deck boxes and sleeves. Finally I'd try to get one of the soft toy dragons they were giving out at GP Cardiff Very Happy.

The real question here is:  When I get $2000 back from taxes, how do I convince my family and girlfriend that I should spend it on Magic Cards?

If I did, I'd get beat power and bazaars.

Mmmm we just looked on ebay and it's really hard to find a beta lotus to compare prices to.  I offered to pay him what he paid for it plus a percentage but he insisted on going for the ebay prices.  Silly guy, I told him it was impossible to ebay the price of beta power...but he was keen on the idea so I let him try.  Stubborn stubborn people would be where you get deals from apparently.  And he's a good friend so in fact I didn't care, which probably got me better prices cuz I would have paid whatever he asked for.  And the whole time I was begging him not to sell them because they're going up in price and it's such a better investment then holding onto cash.  Bills would be the incentive for him selling his power anyway, gotta pay the man I guess.

Oh yeah, I did get my unlimited ancestral recall for $100.  It's VF/EX.  Razz  nice guys finish first!

I'd buy 4x packs of each set after Arabian Nights and a lot of pink sleeves. Then I would hold 8 person drafts where we draft packs and then booster draft our drafted packs. After all of the packs are finished (8 drafts), I'd mix all of the card up and I'd start a rochester draft league. I figure that I could buy a lot of pink sleeves for $200 and that's about how much I'd have left since one of each pack from Arabian Nights to Guildpact is about $450.

I'd buy a 1985 Taylor 710CE ...with the Fishman blender pickup.  I would then take it to a local artist to have the five mana symbols painted on the back of the headstock...to meet the Magic related clause.  After all, being a musician has netted me much more a$$ than Magic ever will.

If, however, I was forced to buy cards, I would pick up collections off eBay.  I dont need any more duals.  If I want to play vintage....um.. 10 proxy...screw buying power.  I would also consider Evenpence's idea of buying expansion sets for drafting.  So much fun.

I'd get 5 unlimited moxen in decent condition, and if I had any left over, I'd get either a lot of Ultra Pro or Dragon Shield sleeves, which ever's better.  I figure with moxen, I can play anything in the format and still make my casual decks bitchin' as hell.  Another idea would be 4x Drains, Lotus, Recall and Walk, if 2k can go that far.

Though Jacob's idea of buying TMD is quite enticing...being able to say, "GTFO my internet, I OWN this place!" and it actually being true would be quite pimp.

2000$ would change into dual lands.  Thats where the future money is.

If I have to buy current product, then it would be what ever sells best on ebay.
