And for LAN:
Call of Duty and Call of Duty 2, we play it all the time when we LAN @ RVS's place. It's just awesome.
Call of Duty if brilliant on LAN. We play it all the time during lunch break at work. Maybe we Belgians can kick your ass sometime Wink . (Unlike in Magic)

Haha sounds like a good plan, I really dominated until RVS's deep fryer food owned my stomach Confused

Oh and for the good games:
Hitman, the new one is quite hard but really cool  Very Happy

Shandalar (can't get it to work on XP though :/ )
Run it in Windows 95 compatibility mode, but only if you have a lot of time to kill.

I see that people have been underprivlidged in not getting a chance to play these games, otherwise I'm positive they would have included them in their lists Smile:

System Shock 2
Deus Ex
Thief
Thief II

The first two games are often lauded as two of the best FPS of all time, something that will be very difficult to challenge given that the newest crop of games are geared to be console friendly and cater to an ADD crowd.

Now that I think about it, aren't those all Warren Spector games?

(Crusader: No Remorse is another great Warren Spector game.  It's probably his least-known one, though.)

3) Diablo2: LOD.
4) Warcraft 3.
5) LOTR: The Battle for Middle Earth.

Current games:
-- World of Warcraft
-- Warcraft 3,  campaigne (1 player)
-- Starcraft BW, Online... ZeroClutter is alot more fun than actually playing

-- The Neverhood, even though it has ZERO replay value... It is so much fun though, and the music is crazy.

OldSchool Favs:
-- Masters of Magic!!  (you can name your weapons... whats not to love)
-- Dig Dug
-- SNES Roms ... Basically top picks: Kirby Allstars, and that Kirby golf game, Also Pockey and Rocky ... too good.

On a final note ...
"Here Lies Ultima Online
 We hardly knew ye."

No game will ever compaire to the awsome sauce of UO.

Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne is the only game i still play regularly. The custom map Dota Allstars is just the best..

Diablo II/LOD was great too.

I THINK I downloaded my copy of it at Home of the Underdogs.  I don't remember if that came with the Spells of the Ancients expansion, though.  Although I did also find that somewhere.

The one from Underdogs does indeed have both expansions.  And, it works quite well under WinXP SP2 (it crashes every now and then, but thats hardly the end of the world).  Just google The Underdogs or something and you should find it.

Starcraft Broodwar

GTA San Andreas (just for the random "I'm bored/need to vent so I'll go kill things" moments in life)

I still have KOTOR 1 and 2, Battlefield 2 and expansion, and F.E.A.R. to plod through, but they're all solid games, and I think those will keep me preoccupied until next fall semester in September.

And I'm also really good at this game called Melty Blood React. It's this awesome anime fighting game filled with crazy combos (like the Guilty Gear series).

I can't wait until they fully develop the online play (right now it's in "beta"). I can already crush the computer easily on the hardest setting.

Does anyone here play that game? Let me know...

EDIT: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melty_Blood

Any possible way you could perhaps give a link???

Underdogs apparently is going through a bit of a snafu with regard to their domain name, so once they get that ironed out I'll look for it.

The site is still up, but apparently they are having trouble keeping all of the games hosted. The mtg mirrors do not work.

StarCraft and Neverwinter Nights.

I will mail free cards to anyone who can take a best of seven StarCraft match from me after a week's practice, on pro maps.

I'm such a bitch.  I hate paying for games (mostly because I spend all my money on Magic the Gathering HMMMMM.) so my favorite PC are, in no particular order:

Mario Forever
Armagetron
NetHack

The last commercially distributed game I bought was proooobably.... Quake?  And that was a few computers ago.  I can't even find a demo that runs under Windows XP, sad face Sad

I was going to download this and then host it, but I'll just put up the yousendit link Matt sent instead. This is only good for a limited # of downloads, though, so only d/l it if you're going to host/seed it for others. Otherwise, please wait until the people who are doing that can set up a more permanent source.

I have no idea how that yousendit stuff works.

This torrent should be working, even though there are no seeds displayed.
