What are you using for mediums? I use acrylic markers for mine, but its tough to get the close details you get. Are they just colored pencils?

I have found sharpies can also help erase the artwork, but it dries them out like crazy. for detail work I use a micropen.

to erase the original art Ive tried lots and lots of different erasers. my favorite is Sanford Ink/Pencil eraser its half grey, half white, use the grey side obv. it just rips the ink off the card with minimal effort. to get the corners and detail areas erased, I just use normal pencil eraser, but those burn through pretty fast. for drawing I use all of the following: pencil - I sketch everything out first twin-tip sharpies of every conceivable color - best for just laying down solid blocks of bright color, and they have the thinnest XF tips on the other side for detail. metallic sharpies - comes in silver, gold and copper. always necesary. crayola thin tips (normal 8 pack) - good bc they are bright, but smear easily for shading crayola politically correct ethnic skin color fat markers - for all subtle shades of brown: wood, cloth, dirt, skin, etc highlighters - good for light colored backgrounds, like sky, or for starting a base to draw other colors on, bc it is overdrawn easily. paint markers - I use these for lighter colors to go on top of backgrounds and other areas where I have to change color dramatically. primarily yellow, white, and red. I also have metallic paint markers, which are much heavier application than the sharpies ball point pens - I have black, blue, red and green. these are best for doing outlines and text. white-out - putting layer of bright white on top. usually only used if I screw up at some point.

I've found that regular soft pencil erasers work like a charm, but wear out after a mere minute of usage. I bought a small Sanford soft pink pencil eraser, but I might as well try and rub the ink off with my finger rather that use that. Is there any particular solution that people can use to remove ink? I've tried acetone, which has worked alright, and nail polish remover. The problem with these is that the liquid spreads where you don't want it to, and the nail polish remover even goes deeper than the surface into the actual card.
Is there another formula or solid that is adept at removing the ink from a card? It really sucks to just color over the ink.

When I use Acetone, I make sure to use some nice Painter's masking tape (nice, so that it doesnt leave residue) around the area I want to blank out, which lets me clean off pretty much any area I want on the card. Its especially nice for Text and Art boxes, and works well enough on like the Name and Type lines (although I use colored pencil to re-color the background after I write whatever I need there).

I use scotch tape and a small square of 400-grit sandpaper. Just mask off the area you want to take off and sand for about a minute. Finish with a slightly damp paper towel to get rid of the leftover dust and you have a nice white (& smooth) canvas to work with. So far it's the only method I've found that requires the least amount of effort.

Regular Nail Polish Remover is usually too diluted to really remove it, but Acetone (the active part of nail polish remover) that you can buy at any hardware store does wonders. Just get a little on a cotton ball or cuetip, and a few seconds of rubbing will take the ink right off (mask off with painter's masking tape for best results).

These look all very kewl
it is almost a pity that we can´t use them in Europe and we have to carry around $3000 to every tournament instead.
Well, if you count the hours that were spend to draw the proxies, they´d probably also be worth quite something.

This is bizarre. Every time I edit my post to change the links to the real site, somehow the forum software switches it to "webshits". its not a problem w my photo page, bc Ive posted this on other forums, which did nothing to mysteriously change the domain I typed.
test: webshit web-shit shit websho webshits (webshits)
every instance of the word s-h-o-t is being changed to "shit" automatically. WHAT THE FUCK?
edit: I just did a search, and every instance of s-h-o-t has been changed on the entire TMD site. what a weird bug.

Great work; all your art is amazing! I really like the creativity in them - the best I can do for now is just make proxies of pre-existing art.
Do you think you could give a step-by-step description of how you completed a card? Maybe just pick a specific card that you did, and describe the order/layers/colors/techniques/etc that you used? I would find that very helpful, and it may give other people motivation to make their own. Specifically, I really like the way the Bazaar of Baghdad (the one closest to the real card art) on the first power proxy page - but I can't tell what is paint, or sharpie, or ink.
