Well, I'm glad that this event has returned, even if it is farther away now.

Okay is anyone else from Ohio or reasonably close to Cincinnati going to this?  I really want to go but don't feel like making the drive/paying for a hotel room on my own.

As a side note apparently some of the Syracuse players are suppose to be coming to this in addition to the many Virginia players that will definitely be showing up.  Perhaps this event can hit the 100 person mark with people coming from so many areas.

I'll be coming from NC for this.

I think it will be easily over 100 players.

Someone at the end of Day 1 posted the Top 8 on the SCG boards:

Affinity
Goblins
Threshold
Sui Black, splashing Red
Psychatog/Loam Control
Solidarity
Solidarity
White Weenie

Apparently the "White Weenie" was Angel Stompy which lost in the seminfinals. Beyond that, ?

Does anyone have information on how things turned out?

Looks like I may have to put down my Tendrils and start playing brainfreeze.  The stack is just a much safer game zone to mess with than the graveyard.  I wonder how many players actually brought IGGy or some tendrils variant?

Sort of
Darland (the LftL guy from February) was piloting Faerie Stompy.

Day One:
1 Affinity
2 Solidarity
1 Gro (UGw)
1 Goblins
1 Black Sui with red splash
1 Angel Stompy
1 Loam a Tog

Day Two:
4 Goblins
2 Solidarity
1 Faerie Stompy
1 B/R Sui thingy

<[Klep]>   i judged day 1
<[Klep]>   we had 75 people day 1, 64 day 2

<AnuWork>   What was the T8 Tog list like?
<[Klep]>   it was life, cycling lands, explorations, and some togs

Thanks for the info!

So what now? Has Threshold been hated out of the meta? Sui had a better showing! Ew.

Is Solidarity the new king?

To be honest I really don't like these Top 8's, they seem a bit janky Neutral What won each day?

Also, glad to see the attendance wasn't too terrible - but it wasn't great. I hope things get better, right now things seem a bit stagnant.

I played Iggy both days.
Day one I lost to Mono-blue Ophidian, Solidarity and Tormod's Crypt.
Day two I played against Solidarity five out of six rounds.

UGW Threshold won Day 1.
Goblins won Day 2.

Thresh is still a top deck, largely because it can put away storm-combo. Also, from what I understand, only a handful of people played Thresh on either day--so you wouldn't expect to see a high concentration in the Top 8, unlike Goblins, which had a ton of pilots.

Please show me a Legacy T8 that didn't seem janky!  Legacy is the land of jank.

Very true Razz

At least there isn't Mesmeric Orb.dec in the Top 8!

It sounds like there was a crazy amount of Solidarity running around with few Thresh decks, I'm not surprised it placed so well. and I'm glad Thresh and Gobbos won - at least we can pretend to have some metagame coherence. Wink
