I'd like to congratulate Godder as the winner of 3CB Tournament #75!
The Duress that he always plays took out pretty much every deck in this week's removal-filled format, allowing the Thallid (which he also always plays) to run rampant! A perfect metagame for it - congratulations!

Once again I apologize for the late results, as you know from the last announcement I'm pretty snowed under with uni work and the like at the moment. I'll admit that I was wrong about the SoldierStick deck, it's just not as good! The emphasis on removal made the Energy Field and Steel Wheels decks much weaker than their usual strong showings; it also meant that the fastest removal took the top slots, as they could take out the lands before their threats were hurt.

One thing that concerns me is that the format is growing a little dull - we've explored most of the decent deck ideas. What would people say to a few weeks of trying a wholly revamped banned list as an experiment, with Lotus allowed? If we don't like it we can change it back, but from the levels of entries and of activity in the threads, I get the feeling that people are getting bored of the format as it is. Post any feedback about this idea in here.

Please post corrections/discussion.

Bah, thallid duress was the deck I knew could beat me, and there it is. I know what to do next time, but the format is changing...

I'm interested to see what decks will come up in the new format.

It's about time I won a normal one of these - I've come close before, but never quite got there.

I think that shaking up the B&R every so often is probably all that needs to be done to keep the format from being stale, but another option could be something like F1 with points for places and a prize for the overall winner e.g. a custom title or avatar or something cool like that.
