Hey, whilst scrolling through the legends set on the wizards site the other day i stumbled upon a very interesting artifact i had long forgotten - Mirror Universe. For those of you who do not know about this card here's what it says on the wizards site: Mirror Universe 6 Artifact T, Sacrifice Mirror Universe: Exchange life totals with target opponent. Play this ability only during your upkeep. However, i'm the kinda guy who likes to use "bad" rares, so this deck is also built to incorporate Aladdin's Lamp. Again, here's what it says on the wizards site: Aladdin's Lamp 10 Artifact X,T: The next time you would draw a card this turn, instead look at the top X cards of your library, shuffle all but one of them, put the shuffled cards on the bottom of your library, then draw a card. X can’t be 0. For this deck i've allowed myself 9 Proxies, here's the decklist: 2 Mirror Universe (proxies 1-2) 1 Cranial Extraction 3 Thirst for Knowledge 4 Dark Ritual 3 Vedalken Engineer 3 Feldon's Cane 4 Copper Tablet 1 Stroke of Genius 1 Time Walk (proxy 3) 1 Ancestral Recall (proxy 4) 4 Time Warp 2 Aladdin's Lamp 1 Black Lotus (proxy 5) 4 Mishra’s Workshop (proxies 6-9) 4 Seat of the Synod 1 Strip mine 1 Tolarian Academy 6 Urza Lands (2 of each) 4 Vault of Whispers 2 Glimmervoid Basically the point to this deck is generate enough mana to drop the Lamp, then from there you should be able to pull out a Universe and Copper Tablet. Once those two hit you need to keep pulling your time warps/walk and restock your library using Feldon's Cane. You should be able to keep doing this until you're on very low life, if you're pretty safe but not taking enough damage from the Tablet then you can obviously mana burn. You should eventually be able to swap life with your opponent and just let them die. I dont think this is an amazingly powerful deck, but it's definitely fun to play and tweak.  Any comments much appreciated, thanks guys!!!

Planar Portal is going to be a lot better than Lamp. It costs less mana, and the effect is to actually tutor, not rearrange. You're going to need a billion mana to get Lamp going and still be able to play cards on your turn. For 6 mana you can portal for any card.
Are you playing artifact lands(seat, vault) just to boost tolarian academy? It seems like the extra vulnerability of artifact lands makes them not really worth it.
The one Cranial seems pretty random. If you cut out black you could play more Urza-tron lands, which would help you get it together more consistently. You could also go green instead and add Fastbond and explorations, which actually might be cool. There are probably other mana fixers that would help you assemble Urzatron, like Crop Rotation. Just something to think about.
All in all, a pretty cool deck with some nostalgic flair. You should find out exactly how your upkeep effects trigger so you know how to properly activate Mirror. I like that the kill condition is TIME WALKS + COPPER TABLET + MIRROR UNIVERSE, that's pretty classy. BTW, you can probably kill multiple players in multiplayer if they let you live long enough to do your thing.

I like to use "bad rares", Aladdin's Lamp is fun once it gets going, and i like to play with decks that have that sort of challenge built into them. As for the artifact lands though yeah, i can see your point, if i were to go green do you think elvish spirit guide might be worth adding?

I would contend that Planar Portal is an extremely bad rare. I would probably only play Lamp if i had a real Arabian's one that has the cool "55" mana casting cost.
ESG is decent because you could play a colorless producing land and still use Green mana in the same turn. You'd really have to experiment, though. Crop Rotation to get your Tolarian early would definitly be strong, also to find whatever third Urza land you need.
I also see no reason to not include affordable good cards, since your list already contains power. Sol Ring, Mana Vault and Lotus Petal aren't worth much $$ but are amazing in this deck(and like 90% of all decks that are allowed to include them). TINKER is like auto-include, especially when you have artifacts that cost 10 mana in there.

Sol Ring, Mana Vault and Lotus Petal aren't worth much $$ Sol Ring is about an entire week's pay for me, and no one has any spare to trade round here.

Sol Ring is about an entire week's pay for me, Sol Ring is worth like $5, maybe $10 if it's in amazing mint condition. If you only make $5 a week, that's like extreme poverty. Forget MAGIC, you need to worry about feeding yourself. Seriously, they regularly go unsold on ebay at $.99 with two dollar shipping.

Yes,Tarmogoyf is probably better than Chameleon Colossus, but comparing it to Tarmogoyf is like comparing your girlfriend to Carmen Electra - one's versatile and reliable, the other's just big and cheap.(And you'd run both if you could get away with)

Tinker is a definite yes, but as for Panoptic Mirror, it would work well with the time cards, but other than that I don't see much point in it

its great with thirst andcranial extraction, and once a time card is in it, you win the game. then again, there is no more fun with the mirror universe I suppose.

Yes there is, I believe Panoptic Mirror says you may copy one of the spells, so you could do that until you're set up properly.

Sit and take damage from Copper Tablet and mana burning until your on 1 life, then activate the Universe. Your opponent should then be at 1. Then let them take a turn and they die to Copper Tablet.

sounds like fun why not toss in a necro and a bargain, so you can go to 1 life asap, and get cards, and then exchange?
