Then today is your day!

Or are you hiding in the cellar of your house today, because the world will end?

Or do you think: what the hell is this dude talking about?

Today is 666 Twisted Evil

Hey, for once everyone agrees on how to write the date! That kind of trans-atlantic harmony is a sure sign the apocalypse is imminent.

edit: also, I had 6666 posts a few days ago, for whatever that's worth.

I think going by the gametria system that spawned all this mark of the beast nonsense the fourth 6 makes the number not/not as evil.
6=evil
3=perfection
666=perfect evi

It always kills me when people put so much weight behind this sort of thing, saw a program on the news the other night where women were having their children induced early so they wouldn't be born today.l

When my future wife will get pregnant the night of our wedding we could have a baby on the 07-07-2007. Does that count?

What's the gametria system?  I always thought that kind of logic was birthed by nonsensical Christians.

It's actually Jewish mysticism. I think that it is spelled gemmatria, though.

Umberto Eco references it in Foucalt's Pendulum

From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaballah

Quote
Gematria:As early as the 1st Century BCE Jews believed Torah (first five books of the Bible) contains encoded message and hidden meanings. Gemetria is one method for discovering hidden meanings in Torah. Each letter in Hebrew also represents a number - Hebrew, unlike many other languages, never developed a separate numerical alphabet. By converting letters to numbers, Kabbalists were able to find hidden meaning in each word. This method of interpretation was used extensively by various schools. An example would be the teachings of Rabbi Isaac Luria[1].

There is no one fixed way to "do" gematria. Some say there are up to 70 different methods. One simple procedure is as follows: each syllable and/or letter forming a word has a characteristic numeric value. The sum of these numeric tags is the word's "key", and that word may be replaced in the text by any other word having the same key. Through the application of many such procedures, alternate or hidden meanings of scripture may be derived. Similar procedures are used by Islamic mystics, as described by Idries Shah in his book, "The Sufis".

I just got back from watching 'The Omen.'  What a pile of shit.  I was going into the movie expecting to come out with wet shorts.  Fuckin A, the only thing I came out with was a bad taste in my mouth.  This movie just wasn't scary.  It wanted to be, in a few of the scenes, but it just didn't deliver.  The music was maybe a saving grace, as it grasped my attention and pumped my blood much more effectively than the acting and dialogue of the movie.  I just wanted to be scared.  I wasn't.  Booo.

Yes,Tarmogoyf is probably better than Chameleon Colossus, but comparing it to Tarmogoyf is like comparing your girlfriend to Carmen Electra - one's versatile and reliable, the other's just big and cheap.(And you'd run both if you could get away with)
