Banned List update: 6-29-06

ALL cards on the Legacy banned list and these:

Cloudstone Curio
Flooded Shoreline
Goblin Charbelcher
Horn of Greed
Meloku the Clouded Mirror
Oboro Breezecaller
Recycle
Soratami Cloudskater
Soratami Mindsweeper
Soratami Mirror-Mage
Storm Cauldron
Trade Routes

Watch list (this card is NOT currently banned):
Soramaro, First to Dream

The great majority of Mana Storm players that responded to my post about banning the "Moonfolk" cards supported these bannings and I do as well.  The format will be more fun if it is not defined by playing one card that gives you infinite mana and give unrestricted access to all of your face down "land" cards.

In the end, it seems that Soramaro is just too debateable.  He is certainly as powerful as the others, but his converted mana cost of 6 really slows him down.  He can not simply break the game open in the first few turns like the others can, although he is still quite powerful and will perhaps need banned at a future date.  Thank you to all that contributed to the discussion.

I challenge all Mana Storm players to find new strategies that are even more broken than these.  Good luck!

Does anyone still lay this format?  I'd like to throw a couple games together at SCG in Boston, is it worth bringing the deck with me?

I'll fix my deck up so we can throw down.  See you in Boston.

Did you get to play with Mr. Nightmare this weekend?

Did the new update to the banned list work?

We didn't get a chance to get any games in, unfortunately.

We should have definitly played Mana Storm instead of our Type 1 tournament match.  I wouldn't have mulled to 5 in Mana Storm (although Mr. Nightmare is like the resident Mana Storm champion.  I'd have probably still lost)
