This is the sequel to My first Dual Land Draft!!!!

Date: Saturday, August 5th, 2006.

Time: Doors open at 10 am and the tournament will start at 11:00 sharp.

Entree Fee: $25(rent fee went up greatly, but more prizes now)

This event will be Sanctioned, so bring your DCI number.

Prizes: A full set of Dual Lands to be drafted by the top 8. I will be posting more prizes according to attendance. And there will be a raffle for many kick ass prizes. THE DUAL LANDS ARE GUARANTEED!!!!!and will be ON HAND!!!!

The week before Gencon and conflicting with the RIW P9 tourney... I'll see what I can do. I need to finally make it out to a big event and represent Legacy Stax. I think this is well-before mid-terms so I should be able to make it up if I can find someone in Michigan that wants to ride with.

I'm very tempted, but am probably going to the RIW Type 1 since it is 10 miles away. (sorry Legacy, you're still the best in my book!) I'll try to make it out to another one of these if it happens again though, I heard great things about the last!

First off, great job with getting the decklists up so fast.

Hunh, some weird decks in the T8. It looks like 5/3 coasted through a sea of Tide and Gro on the back of Trinisphere and Chalice. No idea how Skies made it in, but if I had to guess, I would guess his opponents assumed he had a lot more counters than he did.

That was my prediction too (at least what I was hoping for).  Unfortunately in a field largely consisting of Tide and Gro, not one of my swiss matches were against either deck (go figure).  I didn't end up playing Gro or HighTide until the Top 8 match (Tide) and lost in the semi's to Skies.  I do think 5/3 is a good choice in the current Legacy environment as it has favorable matchups against the top 3 heavily played decks (Golbins, Gro, High Tide), while also having decent success against randomness.

Round 5:  B/g control 2-0 win
Round 6:  Blue Skies  Draw
Top 8:     Solidarity 2-0 win
Top 4:     Blue Skies 1-2 loss

I really feel that I shouldn't have lost against Burning Tog or Blue Skies as I was mana screwed due to poor mulliganing.  I believe Tog to be a decent matchup could I have put the pressure on instead of wishing for a land.  Plus I feel that the deck I played could use one more mana to alleviate this a little, but overall it played quite well.
