Basic land bounce - U Sorcery Return target basic land to its owners hand. I've been playing with a casual bounce deck lately, and so it hit me: A cheap very narrow bounce spell that could only hit basics. I'm still not sure if this would be too good, in conjunction with other bounce-spells and land destruction this could prove to be a problem. But i figured i might aswell post it anyway. /Zeus Current wording: Basic land bounce - U Sorcery Return target basic land to its owner's hand unless that player pays . Still needs a name?

Make it non-basic perhaps? It's way to powerful this way. My other concern is that I thought they said things that bounce lands should have two U in there mana cost, but I don't remember for sure. As it is though, it makes it far to easy to gain massive turn advantage over someone.

I agree. This is highly unfair. Vore is bad enough when they get the T1-Sleight, T2 Eye of nowhere, T3 stone rain. Giving them the ability to do T1 Bounce, T2 Eye, T3 stone rain on the draw isn't a good idea.
Making it non-basic only isn't a bad idea because then it would just force people to play out basics before they drop non-basics to make sure they don't get hosed.

I realized it was pretty good looong before i posted it, i've thought about making it nonbasic, but there's like a million cards that hose nonbasics already, and bouncing a "Bounce-land" is really mean This card should obviosly only go into a set with a minimal amount of bounce-spells. I'd still like to see a way to make this card fair, any thoughts? /Zeus

Edit: Also, I'm not sure why you'd want a card that only bounces basic lands. It seems like a pointless card in any deck that's not trying to bounce and destroy every land your opponent controls. We should not be encouraging that type of deck.

Hmmm if that really is the only way to fix this card, then close the thread.
at 2 mana this card is worse then...like all other bounce-spells made.

If you can explain why you want to make a one-mana land-bounce spell, other than to enable a very annoying deck, then maybe we can help you fix it. Possible solution: "Return target basic land to its owner's hand unless that player pays ."

That actually fits the purpose pretty well, i wanted to create a very narrow bounce spell that could only be used as land destruction. so a force-spike bounce seems cool i'll change the card. /Zeus

Land + return to sender + option to pay = Parcel
Would Parcel be an apt name?

No no no. Not mana. Makes it too much of a swingy card that punishes aggro decks on turn 1. It's a phantom Force Spike which is fundamentally a bad card. Allow them to discard a card instead.
