Shared Agony
 {B} {B} {2}
Instant
You may remove a black card in your hand instead of paying {this} mana cost.
Play {this} only if there is a spell on the stack.
The next time target opponent would draw a card this turn, that player discards a card instead. You lose 1 life for each card discarded this way.
It pains me. I know, it hurts you more.

A twist on discard, I see this as a way to combat draw spells. Balanced for standard; is this good enough for Vintage?

Current version:

The cardcast is almost unbearible.  I would definately say this could fit in that {B} {B} {B} niche.

That's a dangerous reach considering Dark Ritual (although with the alternate cost you could just remove the ritual aswell).

If the alternative casting cost stays, I think the manacost deserves to be at least {2} {B} {B} if not {3} {B} {B} to match the Alliances cycle.

Even though the use of this card is perhaps a little narrow, it should not be undercosted because it has the potential to create great card advantage (or disadvantage, to be more accurate). Remember that even with a regular draw turn draw, Shared Agony can trade 2 and 1 life for 2 (cards).

The "play only if there is a spell on the stack" restriction is there to avoid messing up with the regular draw.

It still messes it up if you play this in response to a spell your opponent plays (or you play) in their upkeep.

Nevermind that it uses the word "stack" and that seems inherently to lead to rules issues.  Cards that mention "stack": split second, flagbearers, Ertai's Meddling, Grip of Chaos, Lightning Storm, Time Stop.  Oh, and Kaervek's Torch.

I'd find another way to work this card; the ACC especially seems sort of bizarre and out of place.

How about something like "The next time target opponent would draw a card outside his draw phase this turn..."?

Also, what would you suggest for the ACC?
