They both lost to the asteroids, so I'll take neither.

Depending on the meaning of the quesiton, the answer is either one or the other. One on one, T-Rex obviously wins. If there is a group of some kind, tag-teaming velociraptors would own the T-Rexes.

Yeah, I'm fairly certain it was a dilophosaurus that killed Newman.
That said, it's gotta be T-REX, I mean come ON.

Velociraptor. Because whenever you see one Velociraptor, that means there's a pack hiding to the sides and behind you. You're doomed.

if the asteroid HADNT hit, velociraptor would probably have survived longer against the rise of mammals.

If the asteroid hadn't hit, there would have been no rise of mammals. It's not like suddenly mutated into super lethal warrior beasts, we just moved into a vacated ecological niche.

I voted the raptor due to the verocity of the beast and that it would be eye to eye. For me that would be more terrifying than a lumbering giant that would rather trip over me and have me as its teeth pick thn anything else.
Now for the debate to really get started:
Some archeologists suspect T-Re to be a herde critter as well. At least two sites with multiple remans of all ages of this great beast have been found. So there you have it. Did T-Rex become top predator all by itself or was it a pack beast. I can name several arguement for both but i will let the pack go at it first. I will see it when i get home from my honneymoon hehe...
Other old things in Rome to see of another top predator...

This is a trick question. The correct answer is Dave Feinstein. He might not be an option in the vote, but were the two creatures actually fighting, the most likely scenario is that Dave Feinstein would jump in between them and destroy them both.
Even little children know that Dave Feinstein wiped out the dinosaurs. His headbutts are called "asteroids."

If the asteriod hadn't hid, velociraptors would have eventually evolved into the position which humans hold today as the top intellectual predator. Thus, we would all be velociraptors. This is why I voted for the velociraptor.

I interpretted the question in that it was a single raptor vs. a single T-Rex. In which case, I think the T-Rex would win. The raptor would score some small victories, but the T-Rex would just out-muscle it and step on it or something.

No rise of mammals? Really? Yes. There was no room for the little rat bastards to change into stinky monkeys, and all the other creatures from the Cenozoic Era. Dinosaurs were the dominant life form on this planet for about 150 millions years. That's a real long time. There was just no room for mammals in the environment. Well at least nothing bigger than a bread box. Oh, and Velociraptors. Obviously.

Based on...what exactly? I've seen no evidence that points in that direction, short of some jurassic park movies, which i hardly consider cold facts. You realize that there where alot of species like the velociraptor and the t-rex....those two where just filmed so everyone knows about them. /Zeus

This is correct, Velociraptors as depicted in movies are completely inaccurate (and actually based on a larger relative of the Velociraptor that was in the same family {kingdom, phylum, class, order, family, genus, species}).

Everyone knows that the Jurassic Park movies are based on 100% pure factual knowledge. Why would Hollywood have any reason to fabricate or exagerate the truth? That doesn't even make sense. I think it's pretty clear that had the asteroid not hit we would all be Velociraptors.

Dude, the T-rex has the intelligence of a shellfish. If his chick stops moving, he can't even see her! That's not a very good pickup line..."Hey, baby...wait, where did you go?"

I voted based on the 'ability to eat humans' category, in which case the Raptor is the clear winner.
So, now that I'm done with my first post, I can go to TML, right?

I think Raptor Jesus and the fact that the T-Rex is clearly a (skull-and-crossbones-bearing skallywag) need to be considered in this equation.
