This is a thread in our local forum with a couple of pictures (scroll down a bit) of what looks like DA MOST EXPENSIVE DECK EVAR (!!!!11!!unehundredandeleven!) to me.

Anyone can beat this?

I can top that. Although that player had his Mana Vault and Demonic Tutor customized by a local artist there, which is really cool, most of those cards aren't even signed. I'm pretty sure there are a handful of people on the Drain that can top that.

Holy shit, I think that Jet used to belong to me.

My first BB jet looked EXACTLY like that one (even alpha!) and had "happy 1st anniversary on it" just like that one. Even if it's a different one, it brings back fond memories.

But seriously, it is a hot deck.

Holy crap, that deck is pimp. That 'house' joke probably isn't far from the truth. Anyone care to add that up?

My power is def. more pimp than his, but he has me beat with next to every other card in his deck.

I would guess about 35, 000 give or take about 5,000 depending upon what kind of deals he got, and which Japanese dealer he knows and how well he knows that dealer.

That collection really isn't that impressive. No Jfoil Gifts? Kevin Cron's collection dwarfs that easily, and Kevin isn't the biggest pimper I know by a long shot.

Jeff has an amazing collection; but it is a dealer's collection.  He has tons of power and pimp Beta stuff, but not a whole ton of Foil Asian, though he does have some.  His collection does, on the other hand, have a lot of really nice misprints and some summer Magic.

I'm not sure what kind of inflated math you are doing, but I would like to sell you some cards at your prices if that deck is worth $35,000. The cards in that scan add up to about $7572-7637 street value, give or take $50 or so.

You guys must seriously have no idea how little Magic cards cost in relation to a house that's not in the middle of nowhere. The median sales prices of exisisting single-family homes for 'metropolitan areas' in the USA is $224,900. That's more than your whole team's collections combined are worth probably.

Sure that guy's collection isn't that pimp to some of you, but to him I'm sure it means the world to him, and that's all that matters. It's the time and energy that you put into making a deck look cool or unique and suited to your tastes, that makes it so cool. If that means beating down with hand-white-bordered Isamarus (kirdape3, I'm looking at you), or beating down with a German Foil Darksteel Colossus, then that's up to you. If I was playing Pitch Long, my deck would look like this with the cards I have right now:
Quote
Pitch Long, circa November 20, 2006, by JACO
Business (31)
4 Force of Will (signed and customized by Terese Nielsen)
2 Misdirection (Asian Foil, signed by Paolo Parente)
1 Rebuild (Asian Foil, signed by LA Williams)
1 Chain of Vapor (Asian Foil)
1 Vampiric Tutor (DCI Foil, signed by Richard Garfield)
1 Mystical Tutor (Asian BB, signed by Richard Garfield)
1 Imperial Seal (Asian; sorry but English is never cooler, even if slighly rarer)
1 Demonic Tutor (Beta, crimped, or Beta, signed by Doug Schuler, signed by Richard Garfield)
3 Grim Tutor
1 Tinker (Asian Foil, signed by Richard Garfield)
4 Brainstorm (Asian Foil, signed by T. DiTerlizzi, signed by Richard Garfield)
1 Ancestral Recall (Beta, signed and customized by Mark Poole, signed by Richard Garfield)
1 Time Walk (Beta, crimped, signed by Richard Garfield)
1 Timetwister (Beta, crimped, signed by Mark Tedin)
1 Wheel of Fortune (Beta, signed by Daniel Gelon)
1 Necropotence (Foil, signed by Mark Tedin)
1 Memory Jar (Asian Foil, crimped)
1 Mind's Desire (Asian Foil)
1 Yawgmoth's Bargain (Asian Foil, signed by Michael Sutfin)
1 Yawgmoth's Will (Asian, signed and customized by artist Ron Spencer, signed by Richard Garfield)
2 Tendrils of Agony (Asian Foil)

Mana Sources (29)
4 Dark Ritual (Asian Foil, signed by Rebecca Guay)
4 Cabal Ritual (Asian Foil)
1 Black Lotus (Beta, crimped, signed and customized by Chris Rush, signed by Richard Garfield)
1 Mox Jet (Beta, crimped)
1 Mox Sapphire (Alpha, signed Dan Frazier)
1 Mox Pearl (Alpha, signed by Dan Frazier, signed by Richard Garfield)
1 Mox Ruby (Beta, signed by Dan Frazier, signed by Richard Garfield)
1 Mox Emerald (Beta, crimped)
1 Mana Vault (Beta, crimped)
1 Mana Crypt (FBB, signed by Mark Tedin)
1 Sol Ring (Beta, signed by Mark Tedin, signed by Richard Garfield)
1 Lotus Petal (Asian, signed by April Lee)
1 Tolarian Academy (Asian, signed by Stephen Daniele, signed by Richard Garfield)
4 Polluted Delta (Asian Foil, signed by Rob Alexander)
1 Bloodstained Mire (Asian Foil, signed by Rob Alexander)/Flooded Strand (Asian Foil, signed by Rob Alexander)
2 Underground Sea (Beta, signed by Rob Alexander)
2 Swamp (Beta, signed by Dan Frazier)
1 Island (Beta, signed by Mark Poole)

Sideboard (15)
2 Rebuild (Asian Foil, signed by LA Williams)
1 Echoing Truth (Asian Foil)
3 Massacre (Foil)
1 Darksteel Colossus (Asian Foil)
3 Trickbind (Foil)
1 Darkblast (Asian Foil, signed by Randy Gallegos)
3 Xantid Swarm (Asian Foil)/Duress (Asian Foil)
1 Bayou (Beta, signed by Jesper Myrfors)

Or we could do German if you'd like. BHWW. Ben Carp, what would your version look like? It's time to share with the class.

But we still like seeing pictures of pimp decks! I haven't been to a T1 Tourney in like 2 months now and I forget what pimpy decks look like.

GabeTheBabe was nice enough to give us a link to pics of a whole pimped out freaky deck.

Pics are better than lists.  Didn't my tourney reports teach you that? Smile

I'm pretty sure 35K is way high, but its bound to be more than 7.5K. Either way...

...it's still pretty remarkable that one's collection of cards can be a downpayment on a house, and that if one were to pool one's teams' collections, one might actually be able to go a large way in paying for it.

My house is in the middle of nowhere, at least I'm pretty sure most of you couldn't find Mengusovce, Slovakia on the map. As I built it (well, not me personally, guys in dirty overalls did it, I merely supplied the money) the value of the house is at least twice the cost of the house when I built it.

For reference, try 49 04 26.59 N 20 08 06.91E in Google.Earth

This holds nothing on my Blue Hurricane/Splendid Genesis deck.

I'm working on Burning Wishes for the Proposal on the sideboard.

The win condition is Shichifukujin Dragon.
