What has happened to this thread?  We were getting somewhere, and then TopSecret suggests a laughably busted version of the card.  OfficeShredder then makes comments but doesn't identify which card he's critiquing (the busted draw 2 cards version or the version listed up top).

I was referring to the one TopSecret posted

I agree with zimagic 100%.  I wasn't even thinking about the leaves play vs. graveyard issue, and now I feel really dumb for not picking up on it.  It should definitely be "When ~this~ is put into a graveyard from play."

It is definitely weaker with the graveyard clause, and I can make the change if it's the only way to get it done. I don't think that blink decks would use this when you have stronger CIP effects, and anyway, you can't make an argument based on "it's too powerful with blink" as we don't have idea if the environment would have such a playable card.

It seems bad flavor-wise and color-pie wise for it to be "leaves play".  The only cards that have "leave play, draw a card" are Spellgorger Barbarian and Thalakos Seer.  And this card is clearly not like those, but rather like Surveilling Sprite, Kingfisher, Fecundity, etc.  He's an "elder bear" so you draw a card when he dies because he's lived a good life, right?  Also, all my arguments for this being fair at 1G were thinking of it as "goes to yard, draw a card".  Which isn't to say that the "leaves play" version would necessarily be more, but 1G is I think definitely right for the "goes to yard" version.

Sounds fair, changed. Any issues with the graveyard version?

24 hour clock on this one unless someone still has a major issue with it.
