If you fizzle you still have 1+  8/8 dudes in play that's not an artifact.  Or a Tog that's lethal next turn.  And you get to run 8 pitch spells + duress.

It's the combo deck that utterly destroys other combo decks.  You kill turn 3 as compared to their turn 2, but your disruption gets you a good deal of time and by the time they've recovered you're writing 2-0 on the matchslip.
