Damn, that sounds amazing. I have no idea where Rocky River is, but there is no place in Ohio farther than two hours from Columbus, so I'll be there.

I think I have to make this trip with my brother. Even though you suspect it, you still can't stop SI.

I didn't catch the guy's name, but he was playing fairy stompy. Jitte, Chalice @ 1, and Pro Red Guys are some good vs. burninator in the top 8, top 4, and then the finals. Wink

39 Players attended

The top 8 from what I can recall in no particular order was:

3 Burn decks
1 B/W Deadguy Ale
1 Monoblack deck
1 Life from the Loam.dec
1 Faerie Stompy
1 Goblins

I didn't get to see very much to tell you about any secret tech, or more specifics about the decks.

All of the Burn decks took out all of the other decks except Faerie Stompy.

The Faerie Stompy player (Kyle? Ken? Something like that) took out all 3 Burn decks in the Top 8, Top 4, and then Finals.

Did I go to this and win without realizing it? My name is Kyle and I play Faerie Stompy Very Happy

Props to the other guy, though.

EDIT - Definitely not appropriate to call people that.  Full Warning.

Woah woah woah, Mark Trogdon and Jerry Yang and Olwen are not noobs. There were a number of high caliber players there. If you think it is easy, why don't you try and play Burn and take the Top 3 slots with it at a GPT?

Ok fine, I apologizing for calling people who play Tier 7 decks noobs. If you're fine with lucksacking your way to a top 4 and then scrubbing out every other tournament, then I won't say anything. I will also save the flaming for real life. It's better to insult people to their face, anyways.

EDIT - It wasn't the "noob", it was the other name.  PM me if you don't remember what it was.

How many top 8's dose Trogdon have to make before people realize that he pilots burn very well and it is no accident when he dose well.  Get used to Burninator, it's not going anywhere soon.

Congrats to the top 8, wish I could have been there.

Mark, Nam, JR, and Jerry are some of the best people in the area, and they play what they play. They win with it. Who cares that they didn't netdeck, yet came up with solid burn lists and top 8'd a near-40 man tournament?

Jerry Yang Sucks at magic! Oh wait, no, he doesn't.

Mark has made some of the most "I never would have thought of that" card choices in Stax, Slaver, and other decks that he makes work.

Did JR or you play in it Nam? How'd you guys do if you did?

Grats to Mark, and JYang for being beasts. Hop to see you all in May when this semester ends.

How hard is it to cast every spell you can possibly cast at their dome at EOT?

Regardless of the skill level it takes to pilot a deck at the end of the day I look at one thing: The Scoreboard. Within the rules I don't care how I win, as long as its a 2-0 sweep.
