This question is pretty straight forward. Does anyone know exactly what servedbyadbutler.com is? This comes up on the taskbar whenever I search and connect to anything on SCG.com. Is this spyware that I should be worried about? I really don't know. Anyone willing to explain to me what it is will be greatly appreciated. Thanks ahead of time. Peace.

"Ad Butler offers banner rotation and advertising management software."
According to a Google search on the website.

Where does it appear?  Just in a banner ad at the top of the page or something, or does it direct you away from scg.com and send you to some ad site?  I'm a bit confused.

It appears briefly on the bottom 'destination' bar whenever I connect to a website. Most people wouldn't notice it but I have a keen eye and am able to read it due to it not processing at a faster speed. I'm really concerned about this, I'm assuming it's some type of adware or spyware. I actually just got it under the destination bar as I connected to TMD.

If this is showing up whenever you go to any website, then it is almost certainly spyware on your machine. In either case, you'll be well-served by scanning for spyware on your harddrive. While I haven't used it for years, I was very happy with LavaSoft's Ad-Aware.

This seems like the latest version of the free edition.

I have Webroot Spysweeper and scan every day but it doesn't detect anything. I used to actually have lavasoft's ad-aware for a while and liked it but it doesn't work (I can't scan anything) in conjunction with Spysweeper. This whole servedbyadbutler has just been happening recently too and I don't know why. I actually love Webroot Spysweeper and it's helped me enormously but for some reason it's not detecting the servedbyadbutler spyware. And it's not every website I think it's just TMD and SCG.com. I haven't noticed it in any other website I go to. Not sure why this is happening but if you can give me some insight I will gladly take it.

Ah, I'm getting it too!

Excellent eye, Cavius. I wouldn't have seen it flash across the bottom of the screen if you hadn't alerted me to it.

Since I'm also getting it, and it is only seen when going to SCG and TMD (which SCG owns), then I don't think it's a problem.
