Please call (317) 262-3400 for directions

Time:
Registration is from 9:00 AM to 9:50 AM. Tournament begins at 10:00 AM promptly.

Entry Fee:
$30.00 - Credit cards are not accepted at the event site. Anyone wishing to use a credit card to pay for their tournament entry must preregister. Please remember that preregistration closes on the Thursday before the event at 9:00 AM.
*Sign Up For Star City Games Power 9 Online Now!*

Tournament Format:
Non-sanctioned Vintage, modified swiss with single-elimination top 8. Up to ten proxies are allowed. Although this event is unsanctioned, it will be run at a Competitive rules enforcement level.

Proxy Rules:
There are two types of acceptable proxies for use in the Star City Games Power 9 tournament series. The first and most basic is taking a basic land card and writing the details of the card on it. The second method is to take a card that shares some of the characteristics with the card that is being proxied and erase any characteristics that do not match, replacing them with the correct characteristics.

All proxies must have the following text neatly printed, using a extra fine point sharpie. Ball point pens may not be used:
•   The full name of the card (no abbreviations or nicknames)
•   Correct casting cost of the card including all colored mana symbols
•   All relevant/game effecting text

When choosing what card to use as the base for an erased proxy players must follow these rules:
•   The mana cost of the base spell must be the same as the card being proxied.
•   The type of the card being proxied must be the same as the base card.
•   The P/T of a creature being proxied must be the same as the base creature P/T
•   When proxying a creature it may be difficult to find a creature where all characteristics match. In this case, mana cost is the most important, followed by the P/T, followed by the subtype. Any characteristics that do not match must be erased and corrected.
•   The art box, card name, and text box must be totally erased. White out may not be used for this as it affects the stiffness of the card and may mark it.
•   When adding text to the card do not use a ball point pen. A extra fine point sharpie is the best thing to use. A ball point pen can cause indentations on the card marking it.
•   For clarity reasons, the use of cards with the new card frame is strongly encouraged

Examples:
•   Welding Jar or Spellbook can be used for a Mox or Black Lotus
•   Disarm could be used for an Ancestral Recall
•   Train of Thought for a Time Walk
•   Counsel of the Soratami for a Timetwister.

How to Erase a Card:
Acetone and a cotton ball or q-tip works well, as does a pencil/ink eraser (the white/grey split type) using the grey side. Before erasing the card, take masking tape and tape off all the areas that you don't want erased for a clean edge. It will take time, but it will come off.

Prizes:
A COMPLETE SET of "Power Nine" (Black Lotus, Ancestral Recall, Time Walk, Timetwister, Mox Sapphire, Mox Emerald, Mox Ruby, Mox Pearl and Mox Jet) to the top nine finishers, plus other cool prizes down through 16th place! This prize payout is GUARANTEED by Star City Events regardless of attendance!

1st - Unlimited Black Lotus
2nd - Unlimited Ancestral Recall
3rd - Unlimited Mox Sapphire
4th - Unlimited Time Walk
5th - Unlimited Mox Jet
6th - Unlimited Mox Ruby
7th - Unlimited Mox Emerald
8th - Unlimited Mox Pearl
9th - Unlimited Timetwister
10th - Arabian Nights Juzam Djinn
11th - FBB Bayou
12th - FBB Taiga
13th - FBB Scrubland
14th - FBB Badlands
15th - FBB Plateau
16th - FBB Savannah

Trading:
While trading is fine, please note that buying/selling cards with anyone except for our authorized dealer(s), or solicting to do so elsewhere, is strictly forbidden at this event. Failure to obey this rule may result in both the buyer and the seller being removed from the event without refund, and banned from attending future events.

Star City Events also reserves the right to limit the amount of space being occupied by any one individual while trading, and does not allow the use of suitcases, handcarts, luggage carts, etc. to be used for the purpose of transporting excessive amounts of trade stock.

Just in case anyone is wondering... I am still waiting for John to get back to me re: SCG P9 Chicago at the College of Dupage. This event is being held in addition to the one we're planning for Chicago... not instead of. Smile

So after nearly 2 years of no Magic and a flirtation with another card game, I will be swinging down to Indy from Chicago.  Hopefully I still remember what people look like.   Very Happy

Steve, I'll do my best to meet you in the finals again.

I'm looking forward to this. Indiana's Vintage scene isn't as advanced as that of New England, so I'm very happy to see an SCG here.

Don't be fooled by Lochinvar81's casual stance. We have been training 4-6 hours a day, while listening to Eye of the Tiger!

Reminder to everyone coming from the West, don't forget the 1 hour time zone change. You lose an hour going there, so plan accordingly.

Team Extreme will be rendezvousing in C-bus to dine at Thurman's then heading out to Indy. We'll be bringing 13-15 of the most savage mtg players to dominate the dojo.
Man I can't wait for this Saturday.

Are there any benefits for preregistering?

You can pay via cc and you don't have to wait in line. It is however closed at this point.

Hi all,

Due to a last minute change of plans, our buyers are now driving to this event instead of flying. This means that they will now be able to purchase bulk commons/uncommons (@ $5/1,000) on-site... something they were not able to do when flying. Bring 'em your junk, and turn it into cash! See everyone there!

Best wishes,
