I was pretty sober....well, comparatively. I believe between Nataz and Spooky there should be enough pictures for people to piece it together on their own. And before you PM me asking, yes, that is me licking Fienstien's nipple.

Also, at one point during the evening, I seem to remember Kowal asking "Does Fienstien's butt count as a vagina?"

Oh, if anyone is interested, I will write a report for my own personal records and the team board, but if you want to see how URphid can be in top 8 going in to the final round, PM me and I'll send it to you.

Me <3 JR!!!!

Where there any Booms/LATR's at the tourney?

I wish I could have made the trip. Perhaps next time I will be able to make it out to waterbury for the awesomeness that surrounds are MTG community!

The best part was ICBM's room at 3 AM as everybody else has said.  That and Kowal's Christmas land Razz

This was another GREAT Waterbury.  I wish I could have stayed for the hotel craziness, but I was completely wiped from my week previous.  I met some cool people- Pyromasta (now an east coaster!), Dan Carrp, and some folks from PA (who's names I forget) were all great.  Like Desolutionist, I thought I deserved better than my abrupt elimination round, but that's the way it goes sometimes.  I'm glad Outlaw finally got the prize, major congratulations there.  The whole thing makes me actually consider GenCon...

Congrats to all who did well. I haven't gotten back up north yet, so I couldn't make it. But I was wishing. Looks like it was Merchant Scroll.format this weekend, but I look forward to more detailed stats/lists/etc.

the good: congratulations to all that did well and of course it's the best tournament, ray's in charge of it.

the bad: flash is fine, gifts was the real problem. i mean, zomg, 11 mana to do nothing yet is so much more broken than 1U: win game. Razz

ay.

but it doesn't matter. congratulations again to outlaw for winning and to rich for... do you EVER not make the top-8 or finals? seriously? i swear to God, even if you don't show up, somehow you'll end up 5th or something. hax.

Ray is amazing. Another great Waterbury, another fun weekend. It was a blast -- catching up with old friends, and meeting new ones. I can't even list all of the people here that I was talking with and hanging out with.

Years ago, back when Team Shortbus was still together, we used to have ridiculous parties in Richmond, and while I always enjoy playing magic for the most part, I've gotten the feeling that things were sort of downhill, that it couldn't be like that again.  I was wrong.  Our community is awesome.  Everyone, even the scumbags.  Ray is just ridiculously good at running tournaments, and I almost feel he gave out too much in prizes.  I was nervous going into this event, with Flash and GAT being so close to unfair decks, but I've never seen so much talent in the top 16/top 8/top 4 of a vintage event, ever.  Outlaw should know this already, but he really made me feel like I was on the best team in vintage again, which is a great feeling.

Saturday night after the event was possibly one of the best nights I've ever had, magic related or otherwise.  Or so I'm told.  I remember nothing.

Thanks for being ridiculous, vintage!

This weekend was awesome. I punted horribly with Bomberman but recovered with a fantastic record of 11-1 with Goblins only losing to Rich after mulliganing into oblivion.

Everyone was complaining that format was so dumb because nothing could be beat Flash or GAT except flash or gat. I didn't drop a game even in most of my matches.

Heres what I beat

Side event day 1:
Gush Tendrils
Flash
Flash
Uba Stax
Winnar

Main event Day 2:
Rd1 Dan Cunningham with Bomberman
rd2 GAT
Rd 3 Marc Tuttle Stax
Rd 4 Jeremy Seroogy Stax
Rd 5 GAT
Rd 6 ID
Rd 7 ID
Top8 Seroogy Stax
Top 4 GAT

PREEETTTY GOOOOD.

Thanks for the great weekend guys.

What's up, Nick Rodrigues here. Not many of you know me but I'm down with team 508 along with Pat B. from Brockton, MA A.K.A. the bowels of Mass. I would like to say despite the fact that we scrubbed out both days, this was a great event. I'd like to thank Ray for still keeping this up after all these years. He did take a loss and still kept the same prize pools. Very humble.
I just got back into vintage (this being my 5th event since my return) after a 5 year layoff. What I can say about vintage is this:
80% of the players are cool guys. A much better percentage than back then.
The meta is garbs. Restricting gifts, unleashing flash and unrestricting gush didn't make much sense to me.
Maybe restricting scroll can really help.

To those of you who were not in attendance, you should've been there. Its a very fun environment. Also I learned so much about the meta, and learned alot watching people play their decks. Its the best place to truly analyze vintage. Thx Ray. See ya'll at ELD's....

As mentioned, though the attendance was a little lower than usual, the quality of players was INSANE.  I recognized almost everyone in the room and before the tourney started, I knew you would have to bust ass to get anywhere that day.  I don't think I saw one scrubby deck the entire tourney, almost everyone was playing higher tier stuff.

My favorite moment of the tournament had to be on day two when I ripped up a Smokestack (could Ray Robillard hate a card more?) in order to receive a free awesome TMD 11 t-shirt.  Jeff (sorry I forgot your last name) then proceeded to eat the card in order to win the same prize.  Scrubbing out and still winning free cotton is tech.

Someone seriously needs to post that video.

Once again Waterbury was a super amazing time as it always is.  I went 5-2 day 1, with flash, a deck I had little testing with, but it was super fun.  I lost my round 1 to the mirror match and double turn one kills being on the draw.  Day 2 I went 5-1-1 having my only loss to Elias valisburg in the swiss, then I had to face him first round of the top 8, losing to him again.  Goblins is probably Stax's worst match up.  The after party from waterbury was so much fun.  It started by playing some type 4 with michael french, to coming back to a room full of everybody.  Brassman was singing, dancing and playing guitar, and falling face first into the wall and sliding down it.  We played keep away with Feinstein's wallet, and with all said, this isn't a drug cartel.  I got about 30 pics from the day on my camera, and Hopefully I'll have them up soon...

MOAR PICTCHARS AND VIDIOS PLEAZ!!!!!

Seriously, I'm bummed out that I missed this - every one of Ray's events I've made it to has been a blast and a half.  I'm super excited to see all those great players in the top, and it's nice to see Vintage players beginning to see some of the fallout that us Legacy guys saw a month ago from Flash.
