I'm looking at starting a cube but I really don't have the patience of going through a ton of cards and figuring which 400 to include (50 of each color, 50 artifacts, 50 multicolor, 50 lands)

Does anyone have an updated cube list up to future sight?

I don't know if there is actually a cube "format", but the people I have know with cubes generally just put in all of their better cards.  They didn't really care how many cards were in the cube, but the color mixed did stay pretty even.  I guess i would recomend that if you have a card you would like to draft, put it in.

One way to keep the card pool down that I have seen, is to only use foils or foreign cards.

I like to just use cards you like playing with, but aren't good enough to be competitive.

I can't say I'd recommend the above approach.  For an excellent resource, try Tom Lapille's site including his listing of his cube.  He puts a lot of thought into balance issues, which can be a pretty major problem in such a powerful set of cards.
