.....and the Lotus Proxies are complete!  I am relieved to get all 50 of them done well ahead of time.  The backgrounds took quite a bit of extra work to get them where I wanted, but I'm very pleased with the final product.

I'd like to remind anyone who's planning on attending to pre-register by Thursday.  My goal is definitely to have everyone who reads these boards and is planning to attend to pre-register.  If you know someone who is not on the list who is planning on attending, please have them pre-register.  I cannot stress enough how much this will help the event run smoothly, and it enters you into the drawing for the Foil ELD Black Lotus Proxy.

On top off all the prize support, I'd like to announce that there will also be a massive Black Lotus Birthday Cake!

We're up to 50 Pre-registered, with many still to come.  I have made 50 ELD Proxy Black Loti, so any participants not pre-registered will have to make arrangements to pick up their Lotus at a later date.  The additional proxies will be completed by my next event.  I will revise the prizes to reflect what will certainly be a record setting prize once all the pre-registrations come in by the Thursday deadline.

Just a reminder that all pre-registrations must be received by Midnight.  I will put updated prize support  tomorrow (currently listed for up to 44 now) after receiving all the pre-reg's.  It looks like we could possibly to hit 65 for 7 rounds of swiss.  If I had to guess, we'll be just shy of that mark, so hopefully I'll be proven wrong.  See you all on Saturday.

This is going to be such an epic tourney.  Sadly everyone else will have to battle for 2-8th because I have claim on the lotus.  Sorry guys.

Is there an update on the prize list? Could there be a possibility of top 16?

Prizes updated to reflect 58 players.  Additional players begin to add value to 5th - 8th.  Less players will begin to take value away from 4th.  The event was announced as Top 8 with prizes to the Top 8, so I will not change it.  See you all tomorrow.

Thank you to everyone who attended.  48 players.  Top 4 Split.  Shay with Oath, CVD with Flash, Steve Houdlette with UBGW Tog and Bill Copes with UR Shops.  The rest of the Top 8 was Flash by Outlaw, Fish by Sean Lind, Oath by Demonic Attorney and Control Slaver by Corey Fraser.  Congrats to the Top 8, it was an impressive field.  Full report to follow.

It's nice to see such a varied metagame.  Looks like a pretty good turnout as well.  Any chance you'll be able to give us a full metagame breakdown as far as what decks were there?

[edit]: Well, at least this proves how bad Flash is, if only two could make top 8 out of that much in the meta...

Well, at least this proves how bad Flash is, if only two could make top 8 out of that much in the meta...

Flash only put 2 in the Top 8, but it made up at least 25% of the field (I guess that is representative then).  It is also important to note that the rest of the metagame was pushed toward Flash hate.  It is also important to note that I heard several of the people who were playing Flash talking about how horrible the deck is (in terms of fun/fair/interactive, not power).

From initial metagame tallies, we estimated 25-27% Flash. Most decks were expecting a lot of Flash, so it's definitely affecting the metagame significantly.

Just to end the speculation, Flash was 11 out of the 48 decks in the event.  It made up 2 of the Top 8, with only one advancing to the Final 4.  Full TO report should be up later today once the picture gallery is processed.
