If only we could have a tournament like this in Massachusettes. I would happily pay the 25 Euro to enter.

Is this real!? Don't tease me!

I would sacrifice GenCon if it meant we could get a tournament like this here in the States. I hope I can save enough money up to go to this. If the economy doesn't collapse I think I can afford to go.

I think what impresses me so much isn't just the fact that the top 8 prizes are amazing, but the great prizes extend so far!  I mean, 4 foil Oaths to 11th place and 4 Foil Gemstones to 12th?  Ridiculous.  I would love to compete in events like this.

It is. The event is organized by the biggest Vintage association in France : Solomoxen. You can find more informations on its site : http://www.solomoxen.com and its forum : http://solomoxen.com/forum/index.php?topic=5598.0

Not in Mass.  Put this in a region where it is reasonable for everyone.  The midwest somewhere so they can more easily get players from NE, Midwest, The South & even some from the West.  Maybe in Indy, Columbus, or Chicago.  But damn, I would love to compete in this.

Some news form this tourney:

- A french woman artist will be there. She is a specialist for alternated cards. You can have a look at these works:

- A french shop will be there too:

This shop has a lot of rarities, p9, foil cards:

- Last news concerning people for this tourney:

We already have almost 100 people registered for this event. We are waiting for 250/300 people. That should be the most important event of this year

Unpowered:
1st: 1 Black Lotus
2nd: 1 Ancestral Recall
3rd: 1 Mana Drain
4th: 1 Mana Drain
5th: 1 Booster Box
6th: 1 Booster Box
7th: 1 Booster Box
8th: 1 Booster Box

This is quite also nice, keeps an incentive and motivates players that can't afford the P9. Althought these prices will most likely go to 8 Dredge players...

We don't think so.
In fact, against flash and ichorid, a lot of people have a lot of similar slots in side. So, as flash and ichorid should be very reprentative, we hope, there will be a lot of hate aginst dredge decks.
We are confidant and think that we will see other decks for the unpowered top 8

That alternate art is amazing! Question: If cards are altered, are they still legal in sanctioned events?

I don't remember the exact conditions.
If I remember well, these cards are legal in tourney, if you can see the name, the cost and the text of the card.

I think a judge will answer better than me;)

Players seem to build heavily against Flash and Ichorid archetypes. The result of the tournament, and the unpowered classification, should not be as unbalanced as you described it, according to me. The metagame should be enough diversified.

Not to bump the thread without purpose, but I have to say that the event is mostly over here and there was an unpowered Flash in the top8, piloted by a guy who had gotten into typ1 fro like 2 weeks Smile

A split for the finals is running I think...

Also, 197 players. Yes, 3 short of two hundreds, but hey ! Smile
