So our tourny this past weekend was a solid return. 24 people on a Sunday after ELD's Mox, gave away all the entrance fees in the prize pool.
A couple of people had small issues meeting the 10 proxy rule as I was asked last second "This is 15 proxies right?" I have decided to keep the proxy limit at 10 however as I didn't hear any complaints from these people, just last minute scuttling to borrow cards. Gimme some feedback if people want this changed.
Date: Saturday June 7th 2008
Start Time: 12:00PM. Going back to Deck Reg. Registration begins at 11:00 am. Tournament starting promptly at 12:00 pm, game losses to those arriving late.
Entry Fee: $20.00 and FIFTEEN (15) proxies (must be marked on deck reg).
Where:
41 Russell ST
Hadley, MA 01035
After you come over the bridge, it is your first right into the Xmass Tree shops AFTER the first light you come to. On the left side of the shop area, you can't miss it.
There will be pizza, drinks, etc. to be purchased for your hunger needs. We can also order wings, calzones, etc. Tons of food options from Amherst, very quick delivery turnaround.
As always, I try to give back all of the entry fees. With the added bonus of Kevin's card selection, prizes will look something like this:
Prize Structure Depends on number of entries (Can also choose cash/credit instead):
20 People: 1st Mox Emerald, 2nd Italian Signed Mana Drain , 3-8th Draft sets
24 People: 1st Mox Emerald, 2nd Italian Signed Mana Drain, 3rd/4th One/One dual of choice, 5-8th 1 Draft Set
28 People: 1st Mox Emerald, 2nd Italian Signed Mana Drain, 3rd/4th Two/Two dual of choice, 5-8th 2 Draft Set
32 People: 1st Mox Emerald, 2nd Italian Signed Mana Drain, 3rd/4th Three/Three dual of choice, 5-8th 3 Draft Sets
For numbers in between, they will be greater than the previous prize level but less than the next level up - basically I'll find a way to make it equitable/give away as much as I can.
~35+ and I'll bump up 2nd to a Library of Alexandria and keep adding more goodies.
I also might bump the Mox to a Jet somewhere around the 25-30 people range if it's between one of the prize sets. More incentive for you all!
I hope everyone likes this prize support, trying to give everything back.

P.s. Hatch and Travis you guys suck ahrd for "raiding" instead of coming to play cards. You better show up to this or I will find the mad haxorz elite skillz and delete all your purps n OJ's.

I'll be ready for 10-proxies at the next one. I also like the earlier starting time, since no one wants to get home after midnight on a Sunday. |

20 showed, probably lower due to regionals. Gave out all the entree fees. Rich Shay and Scott Hughes were on their way to game 3 when I had to go (left them with the prizes).
Other top 8 inclluded myself, outlaw, peese, kowalczyk, and a kid who I called douche because he signed up after I already did round 1 pairings (lame sauce).
