I know it's early Friday, but I want to draw attention that it is this weekend. I will be in constant contact with Ben (Gunslinga) so I myself will hopefully be able to pull updates.
As for now, lets do a roll call. I know Chris Nieghbor, Owen Turtenwald, Jeremy Seroogy, and Ben Carp are on their way out as I type this. And I also know that Fellow GWSers Twaun and Eric Becker will be in attendance.

I know for a fact BrassMan and his girlfriend are going, as well as another GA local (MadAsAHatter) who will be posting updates.
Smmenen has said he's going.
And rumor has it time traveling superstar Jacob Orlove has already won the tournament.

Ben Carp, Jeremy Seroogy, Chris Nieghbor, and Owen Turtenwald are officially on site. Nieghbor won 2 byes Friday at a Type2 Side event. He and Owen are there to play type 2.
It also looks like Twaun isn't able to make it.

So just so that we can keep things updated as fast as possible for this humongous event. I'll be giving out my Twitter. Go to Twitter.com/MadAsAHatter. I'll be posting from my phone if I can't get a wifi signal in the convention center.
Whee!

Colorado Crew member and Meandeck member Lou Christopher is there and I feel bad for anyone who plays him not because his deck is sick, but because he is a savage douche just kidding. My buddy Steve will be there too to throw down some vintage, and my friend Brett will be there for some standard watch out that guy's name will be in top 8 mark my words. Hopefully I will receive some updates.

All that I've heard so far is that there is about 80 players, so they are playing 7 rounds of swiss. I hear the metagame is Painter's Servant.dec.
My good friend Mark Trogdon is 3-0 and currently playing my teammate Ben Kowal. Jerry Yang is 3-1 Nat Moes is 2-2 Juan Rodriguez went like 0-1 drop?
Man, it sounds like an interesting tournament!

straight from Ben Carp's mouth
83 Players. Here's what We got.
There's apparently a LOT of painter's Servant and a lot of Ichorid. One Ichorid player was 4-0.
Gunslinga (Deez Naughts) is 3-2 SpookyKid (painter) is 4-1 Eric Becker is playing Brassman at table 4. Becker is playing Painter and Brassman is playing "Something with blue cards". Both are apparently 3-1 Stephen Menenenenenenenendian is playing GAT with 8 duress effects. He is either 3-2 or 2-3 Brian DeMars playing Oath dropped at 1-2 Ray Robilard just beat Jerry Yang to advance to 4-1 Trogdan just drew and is either 4-0-1 or 3-1-1

Brassman is in as far as I know. Some random dustin guy is in playing Deez Naughts.
Jeremy Freaking Seroogy convinced his opponent to concede to him, locking him into top 8. And then he made the smart comment "well if something happens and you don't top8 I'll just split my winnings with you". Turns out that the judge was behind him, and he got DQed on the spot for collusion.
apparrently Demars didnt drop. hes playing for 16.
Ben Carp top16ed it looks like. He was paired up against Stephan Ellsworth and Dreams Crushed.
both Owen Tutenwald and Chris Nieghbor are out of the type2 event. Apparently Becker is also a possibility for top 16.

Is this a fair DQ? From the way you described it the opponent already conceded, so anything that Jeremy would say after the fact should be moot. Collusion as I understand it is an agreement before the action (concession etc.) not after the action already took place.

I would like to know whether the remark was made before or after the decision to concede was made (not necessarily the drop slip--Gencon 05 Brassy v. Roland showed that its the decision is what's important, not signing the slip). Did the other guy get DQ'd too?

Todd Scott with Tyrant Oath is in the finals.
Brassman beat Meadbert in the Semi's.
Dustin Buckingham lost to Todd Scott.
Brassman (he painted gush, after all) versus Todd Scott (That tyrant, he gushed in my eye!)

Any word on what Brassman is playing? My guess is Painter since the deck is retarded but I could be wrong.

Brassman won it in 3 with his girlfriend watching. It was an epic match, but in the end the Tyrants were no match for a heavy Red Blast plan and the power of "Force, pitch Mox Jet." Congratulations to Andy Probasco for winning Day 1 of SCG Richmond with Gush Painter, aka Grindstone Cowboy.

Glad Brassman won after I threw away our match in the quarters. I suck at this game. Also, Seroogy definitely made the comment before his opponent had decided to concede.

Yay! A new fun deck to play in the format! Pretty cool that a deck based around a card that has been legal for about 2 weeks just won SCG. I love when that happens Based on Soly's remarks, I assume Brassy's version was Gush based. Different than the one Nighbor won with at the last Milwaukee tournament. That means that there might be 2 builds of this to choose from. I think Becker was playing one of the Gush builds we had cooked up too. Looks like Painter is the new DTB. Also, Seroogy definitely made the comment before his opponent had decided to concede. Oh Jeremy!

Wow, congratulations on pitching Mox Jet to Force of Will. That is some serious tech. I'll be curious to see the decklists for these painter's servant decks.
Also, congratulations to my former co-worker Pete Sjostedt on his T16.

If a judge finds evidence of collusion at ANY time, the play can be DQ'ed. A player was talking about it after a last round at a PTQ, and a judge overheard... the guy was DQ'ed on the sport.

So take the list seen from the ICBM tourney, -4 Mana, -1 Gifts, -1 Thirst, -1 Demonic Consultation, +4 Gush, +1 Fastbond, +2 Ponder= best deck in the format. Sigh, Gush needs to die in a fire.
