Pre-reg me. Also, with Dan's permission, I am going to bring "The Cube" to this event.  Just trying to add more fun to an already fun filled day.  Many of the regulars (Jeff C, J. Rudolph, Craig, Oli, etc.) helped me build it by offering me pretty one sided trades to get it done, so it is time to play it!

Questions to be answered:

Will Carpenter Bring a deck so complicated someones brain explodes?

Will Craig allow me to design his combo deck when I have never played combo before?

Will Root Maze come back to destroy all these slaver decks?

Will mystic remora continue to be amazing?

Will anyone plays MOUNTAINS??? (not the kind that are on islands and have lava and stuff)

Will I revenge my loss to the Gilded Claw....with more KOBOLDS???

and as always, I look forward to it.

Preregistrations confirmed!

As part of our efforts to rotate our side event games, Mike's Cube Draft is approved. This free side event will be open for the first eight players who drop from the main event that would like to participate.

Looking forward to another great event!

Nice.

Couple Questions:
- What do you forsee has the draft method.  Are we doing 3x15 random packs? 6x8?
- Will every card in the cube be drafted, or will there be some left un-cracked.
- I know you had a soft-copy of the list a while back.  If you still have an easy copy/paste list, any chance we could either post it here... or in the causal forum... or just PM it to me.

** MAGICAL MEMENTO UPDATE **
Also in a somewhat related note - I think I have enough Magical Mementos to build a deck, so I might be busting that badboy out for this event.  I was actually feeling good that the memento deck could have a slight chance of beating GAT but in light of recent B/R decision my deck actually got worse!  I stand basically NO chance of beating any form of combo.  Oh well, there's always the Cube-Plan-B.

Also Seeing as how the deck is a Magical Memento deck, I would be remiss if I didn't run 1 brainstorm, 1 ponder, 1 gush, 1 Flash, and 1 merchant scroll to pay proper respects to the fond memory of decks that were.  (I am still on the low of end of actual cards I think I have 42 momento cards so the 5 card boost will help give me some design space to work with.  Also this will give me more than an Ice-cube's chance in hell).

Good Questions. My cube can support up to 16 players I believe(will verify this fact), and I would be all for drafting to my hearts content. However- for time issues, we should try to keep it to 3x15.  Since most people are going to need to read the cards again, i would support the larger packs so second time around will be quicker.

I think the best way would be to do an 8-man/woman draft with 3x15 packs. I have lands already sorted and sleeved as well for quicker setup.

My cube includes: all english cards. no power. no proxies. all ravnica duals + karoo's, plus shocklands. all revised dual lands. I have tried to incorporate newer cards into the sets, but only wanted to get them in if I could balance across colors (example, magus of the _____) so no planeswalkers yet.  It was impossible to get the card types to match up as well (white has X creatures, but only Y instants, etc.) so I tried to include cards that were strong for each color.

What I AM going to ask of people is to write down cards they feel should be removed from the cube for different reasons: too powerful, too weak, not fun to draft.  I would like to continue to evolve this into a very fun side event for myraid tourneys/whoever asks me to bring it.

** MAGICAL MEMENTO UPDATE **

MY MYRIAD MAGICAL MEMENTO Deck is sleeved up and in the "testing" stages.  Basically I'm skinning down the mana, to achive what little consistancy I can. Turn 1 Ivory Tower, Turn 2 Sindbad?!  HOW DO YOU DEAL!?

And who needs rogue elephants when you have Plant Elemental!?

I'm choosing to run Tolaria in place of island #11 because it's often better than Tolarian Academy.  Also, without it my deck autoscoops to Banding.dec.  It's also legendary, where basic islands are not.

Right now my sideboard plan is board out some blue, board in mountains and mull to turn 4 CHANNEL->ROCK HYDRA!!  Also I have Kark's Thumb/Squee's Revenge for the "red" sideobard plan.  And Flashfires!

@jeff:  I hope Dan is giving you a free entry into the tourney for playing such an epic masterpiece!  You should get prizes for every game you win.

I just knew tolaria would be broken. First pick in any legends only draft btw.

The cube will be present, but I will not be since I scheduled a vacation. Please let me know what need to get in, and what needs to come out, so I can improve it for the next event.

I am also working on my next project: Pauper's Draft, and Star draft.  More info to come.

I'm looking forward to this one, as always.  The consensus on the new prize structure is in - it's perfect for everyone from the Casual Vintage player to the Vintage Pro.  The competitive players are called by the massive potential winnings.  First place could be over $400 in Myriad Money with an old school huge turn out!  I'm sure we're headed back to those crowds with this new prize structure and the growing interest in Vintage.  Causal players and beginners are drawn to the great atmosphere, the chance to play vs New England's best, Side Events and Bonus Prizes.

This month at Myriad there are 2 chances to win a Custom Proxy Grim Tutor.  These will be the first set of Custom Proxy Grim Tutors ever, and they couldn't have come out at a better time.  Grim Tutor based decks look like they're going to be at the top tables for a while, so why play with those white bordered real Grim Tutors when you can have a Black Bordered Custom Proxy Grim Tutor!

Yes indeed. Looks like this should be a good turnout despite other events encroaching on the same date. We sincerely appreciate everyone who takes the time and makes the effort to come join in the fun! We have even more folks preregistered for this event than our last event and since it's the last one of the summer, we're looking forward to a great day of Vintage entertainment. If you haven't already preregistered, email Myriad@MyriadGames.com now or give us a call at (603) 681-0355.

Anyone passing Exit 18 off 495 heading to this one?  I've encountered some vehicle complications, and Kerwin and I may need a ride.  We're literally a minute from the exit.  I hope to resolve the issue, but we would greatly appreciate a back up plan.

We'll be here

Thank you,
Eric

Anyone coming in from Boston?  We can probably take the Train into South Station.  It arrives in South Station at 09:38.  Really hoping to have a back up plan in case the car issues end up being a legit concern.

Thanks,
