[Announcement] Hadley Mox/Drain 7/26/08!

Our last tourny had 20 people show up due to regionals being the same day, I expect a resurgence as far as attendance is concerned.

I also know there was a problem last time with the prize distribution - it was an honest mistake; I still gave out 100% of the entrance fees, and will  stick to the aforementioned prize structure UNLESS players who make the top 4/2 wish to have a prize split. This way nothing is taken away from 5th-8th while allowing the top finishers flexibility if they wish. If the competitors cannot agree upon a split, this is the structure that will be used.

Date: Saturday July 26th 2008
Start Time: 12:00PM. Going back to Deck Reg. Registration begins at 11:00 am. Tournament starting promptly at 12:00 pm, game losses to those arriving late OR registering late! I know I was not hyper-mean about this last time, but I will be more strict this time.
Entry Fee: $20.00 and FIFTEEN (15) proxies (must be marked on deck reg).

After you come over the bridge, it is your first right into the Xmass Tree shops AFTER the first light you come to. On the left side of the shop area, you can't miss it.

There will be pizza, drinks, etc. to be purchased for your hunger needs. We can also order wings, calzones, etc. Tons of food options from Amherst, very quick delivery turnaround.

As always, I try to give back all of the entry fees. With the added bonus of Kevin's card selection, prizes will look something like this:

Prize Structure Depends on number of entries (Can also choose cash/credit instead):
20 People: 1st Mox Emerald, 2nd Italian Signed Mana Drain , 3-8th Draft sets
24 People: 1st Mox Emerald, 2nd Italian Signed Mana Drain, 3rd/4th One/One dual of choice, 5-8th 1 Draft Set
28 People: 1st Mox Emerald, 2nd Italian Signed Mana Drain, 3rd/4th Two/Two dual of choice, 5-8th 2 Draft Set
32 People: 1st Mox Emerald, 2nd Italian Signed Mana Drain, 3rd/4th Three/Three dual of choice, 5-8th 3 Draft Sets

For numbers in between, they will be greater than the previous prize level but less than the next level up - basically I'll find a way to make it equitable/give away as much as I can.

~35+ and I'll bump up 2nd to a Library of Alexandria and keep adding more goodies.

I hope everyone likes this prize support, trying to give everything back. If anyone has any questions or concerns about the mix up from last event - I have already noted I am awarding the draft sets to the players who finished 5th-8th , going OVER the entrance fees that were taken in. This was an honest mistake, and everyone at the event still had a blast, hell even Rich Shay gave his seal of approval!

So what happened, any word?

Seventeen people showed up.  We played 5 rounds and cut to Top 8.  The Top 4 split $280, so $70 each. 5-8th got draft sets.  Even with a light showing, we still had a blast.  I know Ross Meriam and I made top 4.  I'm not sure who the other two guys were.

All three people in my car made Top 8 making my birthday awesome. That's Louis Gentile, John Lon go, and Jeramey Barchello. The meta was a lot of combo decks and 2 Ichorid.
We all had a great time. The best part about the event was that every deck was tier 1, no noobs. And as always Kevins store is a great environment.

Yeah, 17 people. Top 8 was some ichorid, workshops, a 3cc(?!?!), and oath.

Gave back all of the entrance fees, and also got packs to those who made 5th-8th at the last tournament who I neglected.

I am glad to hear everyone enjoyed it, I'll be announcing next months soon. Hope to have more people there, everyone has a blast.
