We had a record smashing 61 players! 6 rounds, cut to top 8, with no split. Congratulations to Allen Fulmer for his first win at our events!

Prize breakdown was bumped up to the following:

1st- Unlimited Black Lotus
2nd- Unlimited Time Walk
3rd & 4th - $50 store credit
5th - 8th - Eventide draft set & $10 store credit

Thank you so much to everyone who attended. The competition was excellent and we had players from PA, NJ, DE, MD, including reigning Nationals champ Paul Mastriano.

The side event was EDH with 20 players which produced some very interesting decks, and some crazy multi-player interaction.

We'll see you all again Oct. 4th. Watch for detailed posts.

Seems like it was a fun tournament.

It was a great event. Lots of old faces and a ton of new ones as well. Hopefully they will keep turning out in the future to keep the events a success.

Nice work Allen. Its to bad I didn't pull out my T8 match our T4 match would have been epic, as well making 3 out of 4 TPS.

Congratulations on an amazing turnout.  61 players is unheard of for Vintage events short of full P9.  Do you have any thoughts on how you got so many people?

Check out Allen's playmat! Nasty!

Mike, if you still have the decklists, is there any way you could thumb through them and tally up archetypes?  Dark Ritual, Drain, Workshop, and Other is plenty useful.

You shouldn't let people withhold their decklists, in my opinion. It's not really fair to anyone else. If you don't want people to see your deck, don't play it in a tournament.

This is Francis, clearly there was a misunderstanding of some sort in the deck reg. or game, most sincere apologies to pearlshark, I'm not exactly that competitive of a player but to insure this would never happen again I would prefer players play at the table with deck reg sheets clearly available to be checked. Either way, I will most definately take the blame on that part regardless I must have made an error somewhere, this sort of thing has never happened to me before, I wouldn't do something of the sort intentionally and as far as I remember doesn't make it any better or anything like that, but the 1 card involved had nothing to do with the outcome of the game, nor did it change the game state as far as I'm aware that card only showed up rate before you died, I'm fully aware the relevance of the card in the game state was irrelevant, it's the fact that it was there which I do take blame for what happened-however it happened. I wouldn't exactly say that it was blatant cheating for I would not intentionally do that to someone, I think it's ridiculous to cheat in a game- let alone one I'm just playing to have a good time. Anyway, thankfully it didn't effect you from making top8 though it may have altered who you played and for that I apologize though I don't think it would've mattered who you were paired with. Once again, I hope I've made this somewhat clearer, and wanted to personally make an account on here to try to reconcile this, I hope this wouldn't happen to anyone else, and surely I'll be more coherent as to the situation and everything that regards it, and I am indeed sorry for the mis-hap, Pearlshark, especially since the fact that I've been known to hate cheating.

First off, I'm not near this area nor do I know anyone involved in this thread - so I'm not commmenting dirrectly on any of the persons involved... just more of adding a PSA to anyone reading this thread:

In general, if you are honest about mistakes you make - the TO has the option to downgrade your penalty if they feel the mistake was an honest one.  In this example, as soon as you noticed the misplaced card, you should have called a judge on yourself (even if you drew the card).  Then explained that you -just- noticed that you missed a card when de-siding.

I know that in the tourney's in New England, the TO will typically check your sideboard with you, varify that your deck was randomized in the current game state (meaning you hadden't just topped or brainstormed etc) and then make the correction to the maindeck.  Give you a warning, and allow you to  procede with the game.

Funny somewhat unrelated story:
I was playing at Myriad games.  After game 2, I Pile-shuffled and counted my deck to 60 cards, counted my sideboard to 15 cards - and got totally anihilated.  We went to game 3, and I didn't bother pile-shuffling again, because I had seen about 10 cards, and didn't need to go back to the board.  About 1/2 way through game3, my opponent noticed that one of his sleaves was slightly off color.  We quickly realised that he had scooped up my RFG pile into his deck after game 2 which had a FOW.  My sleaves were a slightly more metalic verson of his sleaves so niether of us saw that he had one odd sleave.  It came down to us BOTH presenting an illegal deck at the begining of game3.  I had 59 cards, and he had 61 cards.  Rather than give a double gameloss The TO made me add a basic land to my deck (to replace the force and bring my deck up to 60 cards), and allowed us to continue playing.  We both got warnings.

By not calling the TO/Judge over, you really put yourself in a bad spot - and you really would have tied the hands of the judge if he found out.  The judge would have no choice but to DQ you have now lost the ability to claim that you made an honest mistake.  Now, it -was- a mistake (rather than you attempting to pre-board), but by not calling the judge on yourself you really can't "take the high road,"  and there is very little the judge can do as far as adjusting punishment is concerned.
