So it's that time again... brief thoughts.
AFC: The Chargers are 0-2 and LT is already hurt, good work guys. At least Sproles looks sick. Carolina is... 2-0? Really? Who'd of thought. These guys are pretty good at pulling plays out of the backside at the last moment, oh and Jake looks pretty good despite the surgery. G-Men looking good romping on bad teams and making betters happy. NE's season lasted 8 minutes, yet they will most likely make the playoffs anyway. How befuddling. Tennssee has to be considered the worst 2-0 team in the league. Just awful and the entire Vince Young saga is just weird. Indy - HJAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, nice loss to Chicago. The offense has derailed, for Colts fans that O-line has to get better quickly. You were a Taravis Jackson inspired trainwreck away from 0-2.
NFC: Dallas is starting very similar to last year, which means they'll be losing in the playoffs to a team that can play defense. Both Bay Area teams will enjoy comfy positions in the bottom six slots of any power rankings starting from week 4 onward. Possibly week 3 if SF manages to find a way to lose to the comically inept Lions. Speaking of which, just how bad are the Lions? Minnesota... disappointing. GB looks great.
thoughts? annoyances? happiness?

Even for a skeptic, Brady's injury is at least prima facie evidence that there is a God.

New England will just have to be the early 2000s team, winning through defense. They probably won't go 16-0 again, but they are still a really good team.
This looks to be one of the most interesting seasons in a while.

Losing to Miami after barely beating two atrocious teams isn't exactly what I'd label 'good'.

While Miami is a much improved team, the Patriots played terrible football that game, especially on offense. Their inability to put together a real drive led to the defense running out of gas.
I still think that the Patriots can go 10-6 without the MVP. Matt Cassel is having the same issues that all new QBs have. It's going to be a rocky season, but not too many teams get better when their starting QB goes down for the year.

I hope you die. Or at least never beat Shay again.

I still think the Patriots have enough talent for 10-6 and maybe a playoff run. The AFC East will depend on if the Bills turn out to be a flash in the pan or a legit contender.
